River Valley Coaching Search
Re: River Valley Coaching Search
I don't know much about Coach Quinn but I wish him luck. The expert would like to give Coach Quinn some advice. DO NOT let Chris Tackett and Phil Skidmore be involved with your program at any level. They have been bad for Gallia county basketball for 25 years.

I agree with prep expert they have encouraged every kid that I know of that had ne talent to leave rv if their worried about winning and having ne chance of playing any kind of college ball. They've robbed our program for yrs.
Re: River Valley Coaching Search
I couldn't help myself. I made some calls to horses mouthes. There is no family tie between Aaron Quinn and the Deel/Twyman family. Either by blood or marriage. The Deels are not related to the Forgeys. So I expect some retractions for the slanderous comments. We at RV are rumor mills and half truths. If we here at Walmart it's gospel. Do some investigation on your own people. You make yourself and our community look awful. I can already hear the justification now. "Well they may not be blood related but they are close." Just apologize for your ignorance on this situation and move on.
Re: River Valley Coaching Search
the only time i heard much about skidmore was when he ran the midget league football here in town, seemed the kids never got new equipment and certain people did what they wanted, i had no idea he was involved in basketball out there but i did see him sitting at the door. tackett is just a pretty boy from what i heard was worried about his own step son getting playing time so he tried to coach and moved to sg.
i wish all the teams in this county luck, but it's not going to start until the kids and parents take spme pride and responsibility for the program a coach can only work woth what he has!

Okay "kidsarewhatmatters" -this is for you! You don't have one clue what you are talking about, do you? Who is your kid? Did the Twyman boy take his spot or something? Why are you so down on this kid? This thread is beginning to sound like Topix! Daddy being on the school board had nothing to do with anything!! What, did you apply for the job or something? Since you are obviously sooooo qualified to know what you are talking about, you must have applied, right? This is what is wrong with River Valley-you guys want to win, but then when you actually have good players (yes, the freshman was one of the best players on the team-look at the stats!) you guys get on here with your jealousy and slander them all over the place!!! Rick Patino or Bobby Knight could come in to RV and you would have something negative to say, right! Shut Up! Seriously. Tired of it. People like you don't want RV to win you just want to Bit--! You probably don't know the first thing about basketball. If you did, you would see that the Freshman who started has played travel ball for the past 2 years, has worked his butt off at 3-4 camps a year (which he has paid for himself most of the time), has been at every open gym, NEVER MISSED a basketball practice all year, played sick a couple of different games and just recently scored 30 points at a tournament in Columbus! WTF! But, the way you see it, he isn't talented or doesn't work hard, right??? He needs his daddy on the school board to get him the starting position, right? You are the biggest idiot ever! Open you eyes! If everyone had his dedication and parental support, then River Valley would be unstoppable!!! I don't know about you, but that is what I want to see-wins! Pride! Hard Work! His parents don't talk about other kids on the team -why are you talking about him? Bored? Jealous? How dare you! You need to call his parents up and say this to their face. You are a sick individual!
This poor coach is coming into this...I feel really bad! Give the guy a chance. You have a COLLEGE Level Coach and you still aren't happy! Final word, the coach seems to be A-1 and the freshman is A-1! You are stupid, bored and uneducated!!! Get a life and get your facts straight and quit living your life fueled by jealousy. If your kid is playing as much or whatever, why don't you tell him to get out and hit the court every day and practice and go to camp and travel ball and work his butt off! Then, if he doesn't get to play or start or whatever, you might have something to complain about!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL Boy everyone is fired up now! I'm not down on the freshman kid just the administration in general and how it's all handled. That's great that he works hard and kudos to him in the future, every school needs more of that.
But.......keep sticking your head in the sand or drinking that silver and black kool aid and trust the administration like you've done the past 20 years because they have done such a terrific job at all sports! LMAO

Not down on the freshman kid? How can you say that after your comment about "daddy" being on the school board? Go back and read your comment and honestly say that you weren't putting the kid down.... YOU CAN'T.... and yet still no apology for not having your facts straight about Quinn being married to a relative? You're true colors are showing bubby.kidsarewhatmatters wrote:LOL Boy everyone is fired up now! I'm not down on the freshman kid just the administration in general and how it's all handled. Weren't you a former coach in the district? Who were you related to?BlizzardMan wrote:Gotcha. I agree. This is Gallia County. I know this and also know he was a State Trooper. From this background, I'm betting he will require his players to be very disciplined. If people complained about Hill, I question how receptive people at RV will be to him in time.
Sometimes it's best to keep comments to yourself. Doesn't look good on you.... sour grapes?

Some people just aren't smart enough to know they are embarrassing themselves with their comments on here. I'm not even from the district and I'm embarrassed for you. Mostly embarrassed for the kids that read and listen to this stuff.
Feel sorry for Quinn and any other coach in any other sport who has ever coached for these people.

Apparently you didn't understand that I was dismissing the relevance of him being related to somebody. You're right, sometimes YOU should keep comments to YOURSELF. Yes, I was a coach in the district. I can tell you this, it's a nightmare. Seriously.

As for sour grapes, no. I'm much happier coaching within a different program.
Re: River Valley Coaching Search
Hopefully they hire an A.D. that will be supportive of the coaches. There are some very difficult times ahead of the basketball and football programs once they start play in the TVC Ohio in 2014. They need to downgrade the nonleague schedules because it will be difficult to win league games. Maybe a couple of league wins in basketball each year. I hate to say it but it will be 3-4 years before the Raiders win a league game in football.

The TVC Ohio is strong at the top, but as far as RV struggling? We will see! I don't expect them to win a title any time soon.Prep Expert wrote:Hopefully they hire an A.D. that will be supportive of the coaches. Glad they hired someone with experience and good luck to Coach Quinn, hard in a small community not to hire someone not related to someone. Anyone left putting analysis on this thread is either an anti RV guy or flaming. Been fun guys glad it's over.
Good Luck RV and coach Quinn
