SVC POY

Post by MRI13 »

Congrats to Co-Players of The Year Nick Corcoran and Pierce Mowery!
Honestly two of the better shooters to come through our league. They are both fine young men as well and exhibit leadership on and off the court.

Corcoran will lead the undefeated Tanks into the D2 sectional finals and, I believe, a run to Columbus this year.

Mowery, only a junior, is on pace to break ZT and the Ross County scoring record...I believe he is less than 600 points away from Matt Combs record set in 1992!!!

It's gonna take a heck of a run for the Shermans to get to Columbus, but they have the pieces. Just have to go 1-0 tonight before thinking of anything else!

Pierce is outstanding and is a joy to watch. Definitely deserving of the honor. All you need to know about him is that he reached out to congratulate Corcoran after Nick scored his 1000th point against ZT last week. Bright future ahead.

And thank you for starting this, I feel like Corcoran has been one of the more overlooked players recently in our area. Yes, he's won the league POY back to back years, but it seems like he's rarely brought up as an all around player. He's been very efficient this year, still getting his points on 2 less shots a game and only averaging about 23 minutes a game. His passing and defense have been even better as well. I'm proud to see him receive the honor again after sacrificing personal stats for team success. Another great kid who will be a success at whatever he puts his mind to.

Very hard to argue about either of these guys winning the award.

Pick one. I am tired of this politically correct stuff.

Pick one? I woulda added Overly from UHS as well. Nicks the most improved player in the league and his play is a huge reason why UHS is undefeated.

Dani you are correct...it's nice to see he wasn't overlooked on a great team. Nicky did what he needed to do this year to lead his team to victory...he didn't ha've to lead the team in scoring all year. The biggest thing I like about pierce and Nicky is the love to play D as well...and as I stated before..they a're class acts on the floor.
