Buckeye Elite Slamfest at SSU February 7

This is another big time Southern Ohio boys Basketball Tournament. It's the Buckeye Elite Slamfest and will take place on Saturday, Feb. 7 @ SSU. This will be the first annual Slamfest and it is stacked with National talent that will be on display at our very own Shawnee State University. Here is the breakdown of the schedule for this years Slamfest:

Gm. 1 Northwest vs Coal Grove @ 10:00
Gm. 2 Gensis Academy, VA. vs Legacy Charter, S.C. @ 12:00
Gm.3 Quality Education, N.C. (USA Todat #31) vs Mountain Mission, VA. @ 2:00
Gm.4 Africentric vs Southport, IN. @ 6:30
Gm.5 Huntington Prep, W.V. (Maxpreps #6) vs Bowman Academy, IN. @ 8:30

Southport, IN is VERY GOOD. That was my home school when I was stationed in Indiana. My little ones attended southport.

They are 16-2 and ranked #5 in Indiana regardless of division.

Yes he is a freak of nature. Wow! I seen where he is top 10 ranked junior in the country. What a athlete.

Not a bad event...I just hope if they do it again next year the make some games that are competitive. I would have rather seen a game between Huntington Prep and Southport tonight. Also get more local teams involved and more locals will go. Especially if marketed right.
