With a majority of TVC teams I would say Athens could get what they want. I hear they want LE

Winter weather hasn't been too friendly for some of our bigger matchups. Seeing how the two teams could play in the tourney, I'd doubt they'd want to play this if it can't be scheduled under after the draw.

Could be? The TVC along with Warren and Marietta is a majority of 5 in the Logan Sectional. I'm sure Athens as well as Warren would rather meet in a District game. Yesterday in the girls DIII draw both NY and Alexander were seeded higher than a Belpre team with a better record. Why because of SOS. I think the if this game ends up NOT being played then either Warren or Athens maybe both end up seeded ahead of Logan Elm at the Logan Sectional.

I certainly hope this game doesn't get cancelled completely, although it is very possible with the tournament draw this Sunday.

I absolutely love how everyone assumes that if the game is cancelled, Athens and Warren will meet up in the tournament. With the way the brackets are set up (assuming Athens and Warren are 1,2 or 3 in the seeding) the only real possible chance they could meet would be in the sectional final or the district final. If Warren or Athens is the 1, they only way they could meet would be in the district final. If LE is the 1, and Athens/Warren are the 2/3 then they would meet in the sectional final.

I bet Vinton County, LE and Sheridan (at the sectional level) and I promise you that the teams in Minford and Court House (district level) are NOT assuming the Athens/ Warren matchup is a done deal.

I hope we get to see this game happen, but I feel it would be very short-sided to assume it will happen in the tournament. I don't think all of the other teams in the district are buying their tickets to the Convo to see Warren/Athens in the district final just yet.

Not sure where you read that ANYBODY assumes a Warren/Athens district or sectional championship meeting. I said they'd RATHER meet then, who wouldn't. Saying that Warren and Athens are favorites is just common sense. Both teams have impressive talent. If Syracuse plays Wichita State the Orange would be favorites and seeded higher. Doesn't mean they aren't a great team, it means Syracuse is presumed better.

LOL, WarriorBlue, please reread my post. I never said YOU said anything. But I would argue that LE doesn't think that it is common sense that Warren and Athens are the favorites.

I will feel "cheated" if we don't get to see this monster matchup. I sure hope we get a Warren/Athens game to enjoy and talk about for years just like last years match up in the Convo (except with the Bulldogs winning).

Who does Warren play Saturday?

I wouldn't mind seeing Athens drop Propel School - and go to Warren this Saturday instead. But that is the 'fan' in me speaking ... lol

If Warren doesn't have a game Saturday - I say just call up Propel and tell them we can't play due to bad weather and all the cancellations. To me, the Warren game is just as important as a league game at this point. I think Propel would understand.

Combine senior night for both girls and boys on THURSDAY versus Alexander!

Schools do that all the time ... in fact, most do. (except they are usually done on a Friday night at a boys game.)

I've never seen or heard of a combined Boys and Girls senior night. i'm sure one or the other would feel cheated a bit in this case the Boys.
Most coaches start the seinors in the game.

I see it ALL THE TIME ... Heck, last year in Wellston I had to wait an extra 30 minutes for the game to start because it was senior night ... boys basketball, girls basketball, wrestling, cheerleaders and even bowling (yes bowling) all were recognized before the boys game.

... my feeling is that it will have to be played due to all of the "Pre-game Sale" of tickets ... my Ouija Board is saying Saturday February 8 WILL BE "game day #3" ... 93dog has his elite group of negotiators on this while I post ...

Vinton County has adjusted senior night as well ... girls will be recognized Tuesday night.

Extenuating circumstances call for creative action.

"elite group of negotiators" ... lol ... They are costing me a fortune - but well worth it if it pays off.

..IF the game is not played prior to the Sunday Draw Date ... Athens has no shot at getting the #1 seed ... Warren however DOES as they can/will argue SOS, quality wins etc. ... Logan Elm either way WILL NOT be able to hang onto the #1 seed imo - counting on the early season 1 point win over Athens is not going to do it ... I know the record is outstanding with only one loss to an out of state team in FL ... no one in the state of Ohio let alone Below the Lancaster-Dixon Line has beaten them ... SOS will do them in as they will drop to #2 seed and as low as #3 imo ... BUT we will see ...

... if the game is NOT played ...

Logan Sectional seeding for the top 3 teams -

1. Warren
2. Logan Elm
3. Athens

Game played Saturday (Warren winning)

1. Warren
2. Logan Elm or Athens a toss up SOS (Athens) vs 1 point win (Logan Elm)

Game played Saturday (Athens winning)

1. Athens
2. Warren
3. Logan Elm

... in any scenario imo Logan Elm is not the #1 seed imo ...
