Congrats to the Trojans. Pretty poor performance by the Indians.

Whatever wording floats your boat. Their poor play could be a result of how well Portsmouth played. This was a much more entertaining matchup over the summer.

In summer play it's not that serious as some players are not there sometimes and different starts most the times and nothing to play for like the season

OUTSTANDING GAME BY THE TROJANS!!........The defensive gameplan by Coach Collins and his staff worked almost to perfection........ mainly Isaiah Lisath shadowed Justice, with Sky Oliver also helping out at times. Justice scored only 9 points for the game. It was similar strategy that the Trojans used against Evan French of Warren when the Trojans won at WHS 66-60. Lisath held French to 3 points total. Cody Ireton hurt the Trojans in the first half with 11 points, but PHS did an excellent job on him in the final 2 quarters.

Coach Collins has the Trojans playing at a very high level on both ends of the court.........they have been executing well against zone defenses, while on the other end have been able to play hard D creating turnovers and converting those into points. The rebounding last night was in favor of Portsmouth something like 36-23, with 6-2 Alex Dickerson blocking 5 shots. Sky Oliver has really picked up his game offensively, as he has tallied unofficially 15, 19, and 19 points in the last 3 games. Kyre Allison continues to be consistent in the scoring column (18 last night), and his defense and rebounding sometimes gets overlooked........he is a sneaky good rebounder for his 6-2 frame. Oliver, too, can surprise opponents with his ability to pull the ball off the glass. Hunter Gibson fits in nicely at the 5 position, and has shown the ability to make some excellent passes in the half court offense. Kendall Reynolds once again showed his value as the 6th man, as he plays solid basketball with very few mistakes. The rest of the bench players have at some point made good contributions as well.

It's exciting as a Trojan fan to watch this team get better and better by the week........there's still a lot of basketball left to be played, which means there's room for improvement still........I think the Florida trip gave these kids a lot of confidence that they can be a very good team. GO TROJANS!!!

Big win by the Trojans...they are playing great basketball right now. Tourney game I think everyone wants is Valley v. PHS, and hopefully we get it!

Peebles should take note of when Fairfield Christian plays PHS. Good chance that FC (or someone of their caliber out of Central District) will be standing between them and a trip to State this year. The Carpenter kid is a stud.*

It is always hard to lose, especially not being able to keep it reasonably close, but this was probably a good learning experience for Peebles. Both teams are young but many of the Portsmouth kids also played big roles on their varsity squad last year while most of the Peebles guys, by most I mean pretty much all except for Justice, have never experienced playing a district/regional tournament caliber game. Our guys should only get better as the year goes on. There is talk that we do not have a game against Portsmouth next season, which I think is a shame because with a year of experience and home court we might have been able to give them a better game.

TribeManiac10: Portsmouth's schedule next year does not allow them hardly any non-conference games.......they will have to play a full SEOAL schedule, and a full OVC schedule. That will account for 20 games total, with only 2 non-conference games available. Those most likely will be Chillicothe and Wheelersburg, which are traditional rivals on PHS's schedule.
