Pictures of "Old Gyms"
I love gyms with tradition, history and character to them. I felt this would be a neat thread if posters could post pictures of some of the "old gyms" of Southeast Ohio. I know we talk about them from time to time, but was curious to see any photos of these gyms or maybe some game photos from them.
For example - I have always heard about the infamous stage of the old Oak Hill HS, but have never seen a picture of it!

Somewhat reminiscent of Portsmouth's old Grant Gym.

Those are two of the best players in the SOC at the time. Nick Donley from Oak Hill and Justin Lower from South Webster.

Hail the Wonderdome!!! The picture on the wall once had a basketball painted with threads, like a football, painted on the wall. That was in the early 80's and I am pretty sure that threads had been removed from basketballs. Afternoon practices on the West end of the gym, you couldn't see a pass being made to you due to the sun glaring in from the window.

No. This gym no longer exists. It was demolished when the new high school was built. They play in the new gym that was built.

Great stuff!! I was just thinking that the Ironton gym reminded me of Grant at Portsmouth. How much longer until Saint Joe is in their new gym?
