First football and now basketball. Not looking good for the Tigers

Really tough out of conference schedule. Huntington and Capital were the two best AAA teams in WV last year. Ashland is 8-1 and very good.

Of the first 4 losses, Spring Valley is the only questionable loss. They haven't impressed early on and their football team played in the state championship game 3 days prior on 12/3.

Coach Lafon believes in a tough schedule to prepare for conference/tournament play. It certainly has its merits. Lafon did the same thing when he was at SP. I don't know if anyone consistently plays a tougher schedule in Lawrence Co or the OVC than Ironton. I hope the Ironton faithful don't give up on this team too soon.

On a side note, it is nice to see so many OVC teams able to field freshman teams. I count 5 (Ironton, SP, Gallia, Fairland, Portsmouth) just going by the schedule.

Definitely not much talent walking the halls anymore, but I'm surprised to see Ironton struggling as bad as they are. Losing Bryant obviously hurt, but I expected a few more wins up to this point.
