Jackson @ Meigs

Post by Ironman92 »

JV/Varsity contest Friday in Meigs Co. Jackson rolls in at 5-1 but has struggled with consistent performance on the road. Meigs will host as a 3-4 team with a really good play in Baer and Bartrum, Bartrum and Cleland will be a big part of the battle as well. Meigs is pretty young but some good young talent.

If Jackson gets into foul trouble and shoots horrifically from the perimeter...they’ll have their hands full again...and then a huge matchup at Chillicothe the next night.

It would be real nice to come out and get to them early and often...but that hasn’t been way so far for the Ironmen. They definitely won’t be overlooking Meigs.

Jackson will indeed have their hands full going into Meigs. The Marauders are 3-4 going into this game. MC has lost it's last 2 games. Losing to Alexander 64-53 and then to Vinton Co. 74-66, also losing to Oak Hill 70-55 and Warren 63-48. Southern, Marietta, and Wellston are their wins. They beat Wellston by 19. For MC to win they must, (1) Out rebound JI on both ends of court. (2) Hit the 3's. (3) Force JI to hit their shots from behind the line. (4) Out run JI's D and win the post. For JI to win they must, (1) Shoot for %. (2) Control the post, (3) Shut off MC's lanes. I'm thinking JI by 14 after another rough start on the road.

Question for Ironman92. Why does Jackson and Oak Hill not play each other ? When was the last time they play ? I know Wellston has played them some. Oak Hill always has a decent program, well coached !

The last time Jackson and Oak Hill played was the 2004-05 season at Oak Hill. Jackson beat Oak Hill 63-33. Jackson was very solid that year and if I am not mistaken, made it to the convo that year.

Meigs big man will have to show me more than I saw when watching the game against Oak Hill at Rio Grande 2 or 3 weeks ago. I've seen Jackson play, and I don't think Meigs can contain Jacksons size inside. Weston Baer will get his points as I think hes one of the Better players in SEO. Both Bartrums are good but will need to stay out of foul trouble for Meigs to have a chance to win. Being that Meigs is at home, I do look for a pretty good ballgame.

Before the year started most of us believed this would’ve been a battle of unbeatens in the league. (Jackson v Chillicothe).

What did The Jackson coach do To anger the AD?

Btw Jackson is really good. I believe this game will show the difference between the Top of the FAC and the TVC. Unless Jackson is looking forward to Saturday night.

Yes I agree it would be a good night at the ticket box, a lot like Athens & Alexander is every year, there is nothing like a in county battle.

I don't know whether anyone has noticed but the Girls don't play anymore either. Oak Hill and Wellston, boys and girls do play each other about every
year. When Anna Ramey was the girls coach at Jackson, they and Oak Hill did practice against each other a couple years.
