Since when did New Lexington get a basketball team? I stand corrected, they are now a stellar 2-4.93Bulldog wrote: Fri Jan 18, 2019 11:18 pm (2-4)
Wins over VC & New Lex
Losses at Waverly, vs Gallia, at Warren and at VC
Elijia Williams did not dress tonight. Pretty big loss. But no excuses, Vikes played a really good game.

Eli was game time decision. Lots of swelling, but good tape job, ankle brace, and a lot of heart.VisionQuest wrote: Fri Jan 18, 2019 10:47 pmHmmm. Eli must have healed awful quick, since he started. LOL. Good one!vcgrad wrote: Fri Jan 18, 2019 9:50 am Athens will win big--if the play hard--I heard that Eli is out for a while---Should be an easy one for Athens.

Athens was shooting free throws with very little time on the clock. Maxfield missed the free throw. The game is tied. The ref called a foul on Hynes 90 feet from the basket with no time on the clock.

Re: Athens @ VC 1/18
"Hitte — per the official’s ruling — had been fouled, or basically bumped, by Athens’ Justin Hynes as he had possession of the ball while falling out of bounds.
Time expired as Hitte grabbed the rebound of Logan Maxfield’s missed shot for Athens, which would have won the game for the Bulldogs, but the official nearest the play indeed called a foul on Hynes.
Athens had already committed seven team fouls for the second half, thus the Vikings were already in the one-and-one bonus situation."

Any kid would be ecstatic...I couldn’t imagine how excited Austin was. He’s a very excitable kid.

Re: Athens @ VC 1/18
Athens was down 2 with the ball. Markins attempted a Trey, missed, got his own rebound and put up a 10 footer to tie the game.
On the inbounds play, VC player stepped out of bounds, which game Athens the ball with 3.6 sec remaining. Called time out, set up a play, attempted a game winning shot, missed - but as Hines & VC player battled for the rebound - they called a foul on Hines with 0.1 left on the clock.

From where I was sitting it was obvious that some of our daddies have been helping our kids work on fundamentals. The results were evident. If you can’t beat em join em. Daddy ball had its time in Athens and now its doing its thing in mcarthur. Happy to see it. Maybe we can get some of that going in football

Those refs have a new agent known on here as farmer Yoder. He has been helping guys get scheduled and earn extra pay shaving points. He says he has a lot more time to do work with young refs since he got banned by orange and brownkoondoger wrote: Sat Jan 19, 2019 3:46 pmFreaking “Glouster refs.” I knew this could happen.Raider6309 wrote: Sat Jan 19, 2019 3:26 pmAthens was shooting free throws with very little time on the clock. The Farmer got banned? I thought maybe he had wildcat fever.
I miss him. You know. I think it should be a rule that the name of the moderator that bans someone should show up on the notification the user gets. Or maybe there should be a scoreboard that tracks ejections by moderators. These guys are like cops with a quota.

Re: Athens @ VC 1/18
How far south do you think 3 of these " Glouster Refs " would be willing to travel and call a couple upcoming games? I understand that money would be a big factor, but I'm pretty sure we would make it worth there time.koondoger wrote: Sat Jan 19, 2019 3:46 pmFreaking “Glouster refs.” I knew this could happen.Raider6309 wrote: Sat Jan 19, 2019 3:26 pmAthens was shooting free throws with very little time on the clock. Two things:
1. Thought you gave up Preps?
2. Nice prediction that Combs would retire.
