Warren with a hard fought victory against AAA Parkersburg South. First quarter was fast paced with Warriors hitting 4 three point goals and leading 24-19 after one. South dominated the second quarter outscoring the Warriors 15-4. Early third quarter would be huge because South had all of the momentum heading into halftime. The Warriors responded defensively and used 11 third quarter points by Noah Nichols to propel themselves to a 43-39 lead after three quarters of play. Fourth quarter was intense, physical, and heated with each team picking up technical fouls. The Warriors held onto their slim lead thru the first half of the quarter, but South pulled to within 2 at about the 2 1/2 minute mark. The Warriors answered with a Seth Dennis basket. After some back and forth scoring, the Warriors held a 66-60 lead late. South hit a long 3 pointer by Glenville State bound Seth Fallon to pull within 66-63. With the clock winding down and South pressing, the Warriors inbounded and threw a long pass to Brandon Simoniette who put an exclamation point on the evening with a 2 hand dunk as time expired.
Warriors were led by Seth Dennis with 20 points and 5 assists; Noah Nichols 19 points and 5 rebs, and Clay Miller with 11 points and 8 boards. Brandon Simoniette and Austin Barta scored 7 each and Bryce Knost added 4.
South was led by Malaki Sylvia with 23 points and 10 rebounds; Seth Fallon 15 points and 9 assists, and Nathan Currey 11 points. Brayden Mooney scored 9 points, Jake Dennis 3, and Dylan Day 2.

I'm with you Chieftain2009 - South IS a very good basketball team! ... good to see Coach Maddox's BBB get even with PSHS with last night's W ... Brandon Simoniette has been an outstanding add to the Warriors this season - hasn't been a BIG scorer BUT he CAN score, plays a great floor game offensively and defensively AND he does have "UPS" ! looking forward to traveling to the Warriordome Saturday night for the Logan @ Warren game - ALWAYS a great game ...

Yes, Parkersburg South falls to 6-13 and have lost 8 games by 5 points or less. They are for sure much better than record indicates. Could be a dangerous team in West Virginia postseason play.
