Great game burg definitely better team and fouls had nothing to do with outcome. Meg’s fouled a lot. But some Meigs kids got mugged I expect that in tourney. But you bump Holden and it is a foul.

But happens with a lot of great players. Meigs with a great effort. Cleland not playing but 3 minutes couldn’t shoot a jumper. And the leg would not let him drive by people.

All I saw during this game was terrible shooting by Burg and the refs sure let them play Meigs was absolutely mugging Burg on almost every shot that was close to the basket and I think Holden only went to the line 3 times maybe 4 but gotta give Meigs credit for trying to slow the game down they came in with a good game plan but was just outmatched in the end on to the Convo next Saturday at 6:30

Great comeback win Burg! Fought through the slow down and physical play of the game. Down 12-1 and never gave up.

Great game plan by Meigs. Slow it down and play physical ball. If it's not getting called then keep on doing it. Big factor for them was I think they only had two players score, No. 14 and 20. Other players passed up wide open shots and you could tell the coach was not happy.


If Burg hits half of the shots they missed they win this one by 20 but they usually don't shoot well at Jackson.

Also, how does Holden not even attempt a basket in the 3rd quarter? Didn't take one shot and then he scored I believe 8 in the 4th qtr.

Refs did let a lot go tonight especially slapping and reaching for the ball by both teams. Refs weren't a factor either. Did hear that one of them was a Meigs graduate!


Holden's block in the first half was a thing of beauty and then the dunk was very nice. Don't know when Burg's journey will end but sure going to miss watching him play football and basketball. By far the greatest athlete Burg has ever seen with Chris Ellis and Jonathon Eaton right behind him.

You can still slow the game down in high school and must do that depending on the matchup which in this case seemed to work out well for the Marauders with that strategic move until the 4th quarter. Some people such as I remember when the colleges had no shot clock and teams like North Carolina and Marquette used the "4 corners" amazingly well back in the day. That's why they play the game and the most talented and best teams don't always win.

That is true. Look at Southeastern's run a couple of years ago. Didn't they come into the tourney with 4 wins?


Also, ask stormin' Norman about that. Burg has knocked a 20-0 Chesapeake of his out at the Sectional and a 20-0 Oak Hill squad as well.


Burg had a horrible shooting night tonight but they got through it. Had nothing to do with the defense they missed quite a few wide open looks. It happens. No one is taking nothing away from Meigs. They executed their game plan but just ran out of gas towards the end.

#2 in state? Underrated if you ask me? From the sound of the radio Meigs had Burg!
