Boy it's hard to beat a real good team three times,they know each other like the back of your hand,if my Hawks hit there free throws in the fourth qt.,this would have been a15 point game

I mean no disrespect by this. But if this isn’t a 25 point win by Hiland, I’ll be shocked. Hiland is as tough as always and as long as they have Andy Miller running the show, they won’t lose their head

Hawks1112: Coal Grove doesn't have a lot of size.......the tallest starter might be their PG Aaron Music, a 6-3 senior. He could be a difficult matchup for the player he's guarding.......he's one of the best defenders in the SE district, and is very capable of scoring 20+. Casey Borders has a very nice perimeter game, and the other 3 starters are about 6-0 to 6-2, athletic and will defend hard. They will also attack the glass for rebounds. Coach Vandorhoof will play a couple kids off the bench. The Hornets are not a real high scoring team, probably averaging around 60 PPG. CG might have an advantage of playing 2 games already on the Convo floor.

Hiland is the favorite in this game, having won this regional last year, but I wouldn't count out the Hornets.....it's not a best of 7, just one game, and the favorite doesn't always win in a one game scenario. Coal Grove has already beaten some good teams this season, winning at Oak Hill and Ironton, two difficult places to come away with a W.

I know that Berlin Hiland will be the favorite, as they are in 98% of there games, but I can promise you that Coal Grove will show up, and that they will give and leave every ounce of effort that they have on that floor.

Berlin has a veteran coach. They are very well coached disciplined, patient and play very good fundamental defense. They wont beat themselves. Not that I wouldnt like to see the Hornets win this one but Ive got to go with a more well balanced team offensivel and defensively in Hiland

No doubt Hiland is a great program but CG doesn't play a D4 schedule. Playing at Oak Hill, then twice against Portsmouth, Fairland, Ironton, Chesapeake and Gallipolis (once with Loveday) we have played against some excellent programs. Most D3.
Athletically we should match up well but we need to play sound fundamental basketball to make it a game.
I feel confident CG will represent well. Go Big Grove!

Coal Grove is definitely good and the best D4 team in SE Ohio. I'm rooting hard for you guys! I hope you guys can beat them.
