Agreed. Grew up playing ball with Ragland, and have known Woods for years. This crew does a very good jobmlittle wrote: Sun Feb 09, 2020 12:52 pm I think one of the top crews I’ve seen in some time is

Gillot. I think josh but not sure of first name. Shiny bald head.
This is a solid crew for southeast Ohio and I believe all these guys get tournament games.

Re: Top Referees...
Even if I wanted to, I can’t argue with any of the ones stated so far.
We’ve had a crew of all younger guys (probably mid to late 20’s) and I think they do a great job and will only get better. Crab’s Brother does a nice job, especially as a newer official as well.
For the most part, the officials in the Freshman/JV games we’ve had this year have been the best that I’ve seen at that level in a while.

I enjoy the veteran guys who still use proper mechanics and hustle during the game. A few that come to mind for me would be Rod Nichols, Kyle Gilmore, Jeremy Linkous, Jason Wright.

Doug Davis and John Derrow. Two that I always thought did a great job. Current refs I think do a great job include Nichols, Throckmorton, Hopkins, Ward, Linkous, Orin and couple others that I’ve seen this season but do not know the names. I believe this district has several of the best refs in the state.

Throck Morton is just a poor mans version of Keith Dettwiller!Fusball Fanatic wrote: Wed Feb 12, 2020 2:53 pm Doug Davis and John Derrow. Two that I always thought did a great job. Yes, I've seen him at Southern and he pretty much calls the game by himself. Southern usually wins when he has the game too. They're very fond of him out there as evidenced by the number of games they give him.coyote II wrote: Thu Feb 13, 2020 2:15 pm Neil Knight

There isn’t enough room on this chat board to list the bad ones.
Stop making excuses and start making things happen!
Re: Top Referees...
The Junior High and high school officiating has been really good this year in Scioto County.
There seems to be a lot of younger officials out there as well, hopefully they stick with it.

Re: Top Referees...
We used to have him out at Eastern every night so we could get screwed out of games on our home court. Then they gave us an assigner and it just doesn’t feel right at home anymore, like we get fair calls and all kinds of crazy stuff nowhardhitter ll wrote: Thu Feb 13, 2020 2:52 pmYes, I've seen him at Southern and he pretty much calls the game by himself. Re: Top Referees...
Oak Hill @ Portsmouth West tonight. Even though it was a very Physical game and a low scoring game, it did get a little chippy a couple times. This crew Hiles or Giles, Nichols, and Throckmorton were in charge from the get go, and I think did one of the better jobs that I have seen all year long. Now I know how tough of a job it is, and just how tough it can be at times. I don't want to be to critical of the JV officials, as I realize that they don't normally have as much experience as the varsity officials. If they have the chance to take a refresher class, I would hope that they do so. Maybe they were just having a bad night, as it was pretty bad for both teams.
Re: Top Referees...
Not sure who the crew was last night at Unioto but they were really good. They met us play but called the obvious stuff. First time we seen them all year. I know it was a blowout but you could tell they were a good crew
