3/11, 6:15 D3 Reg. Semi, Harvest Prep vs Zane Trace

Post by FANOSPORTS »

Harvest Prep just won 49-47 over Worthington Christian (was tied @ 47 with .07 seconds left and CJ Anthony did a pro "flop" on a 3 pointer and made 2 of 3 ft's to win it. No way, shape or form was he fouled but it was called. Tough loss for WC as they led the whole game.)

This will be a tough one for Zane Trace.
I think they can hang around in this one and give themselves a chance at the end.
Harvest Prep only beat Worthington Christian by two points, but WC is really good.
They will have to stop C.J. Anthony who has scored around 2,300 points in his career.

Harvest Prep will be the 2nd best team Zane Trace has played- Gahanna being the best. Worthington Christian is a beast and was playing very very good basketball and for Harvest Prep to be able to beat them means that Harvest Prep is playing very very well also. Zane Trace has the best chance to be beat Harvest Prep of the other schools in the Athens Regional. ZT will have to play good for 4 quarters with no let downs. Harvest Prep will pressure and pressure and pressure the whole game- maybe not full court all game but pick you up at half court and try and speed you up into a lot of turnovers. Playing a Gahanna team will help ZT know what athleticism Harvest Prep will bring.

There are two impartial, primary sources at the game that said Anthony from HP was hit on the arm after his release on the shot that induced the shooting foul that sent him for his game-winning free throws.

Additionally, two camera angles from the crew at 270Hoops corroborate the call. One is far side from half-court, the other is from the baseline beneath the bucket that has the short-side angle as the foul occurred roughly 15 feet away.

They played Chillicothe too who handled them easily.
They have seen teams better than HP. But this will be no small task

Does one ticket get both regional semi-final games on Wednesday night?

Does Harvest Prep have a big man that can matchup with Nesser for Zane Trace? If HP pressures on the perimeter, then getting the ball inside to Nesser will be a big key for Zane Trace. It appears both teams have dynamite guard play, so let the scheming begin.

They have a couple of guys that go about 6'4 each that score some but probably relied on for rebounding and taking up room in the middle- the Henry kid will score a bit more than the Beavers boy. With Anthony averaging around 31 points a game he is their scorer.

Pretty bad foul call by the ref

Zane Trace must use their size to have the best chance to win. HP most likely will try to use some form of pressure on the ZT guards. If the Pioneers can take care of the ball and score in the paint, they can advance to the regional final. ZT has already played some very good teams, so that may help them against HP, but they can't let Anthony take over the game. Easier said than done.

I’m sure if he was flopping the whole game and not getting calls that he wouldn’t hold his follow through on the game winning shot...especially since his arm moved slightly and not in a glaring way.

Good call by the official.
