None of the people I’ve heard that applied are “big names”. A few former coaches though.transplant wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 8:26 pm Gotcha. I wondered. Would have been difficult I’d think. I did hear another BIG name that confirmed did apply.

I was referring to his size. I’ll go ahead and say it, I heard BJ Mullens applied. He isn’t a current coach anywhere, so I feel it’s safe to mention his name.

I’d heard he was interested but didn’t hear that he officially applied.transplant wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 9:19 pm I was referring to his size. I’ll go ahead and say it, I heard BJ Mullens applied. He isn’t a current coach anywhere, so I feel it’s safe to mention his name.

Gotcha. Heard he was interested in another job as well but didn’t apply that I know of. But did hear that he actually applied for the pv job.PVBearcat2012 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 9:36 pmI’d heard he was interested but didn’t hear that he officially applied.transplant wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 9:19 pm I was referring to his size. I can assume I know who you all were referring too, just from past knowledge and things that have been said this past year in regards to PV. I’d say if this job was open next year there would be a very good chance this could happen. But not this year, a huge part of the equation is not interested in making the change. But maybe I’m off on who you all are talking about, but I don’t think I am.PVBearcat2012 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 8:17 pmThe guy you’re talking about isn’t coming...I’ve heard the Bearcats tried and the timing didn’t work out.

In all honesty I don’t think it is. Scooter lives in Beallsville, UL is way closer to home. UL girls are loaded, watched them on a livestream this winter, they were all sophomores if I remember right. Meadowbrook boys have 2 really good retuning players and not much else. My buddy runs their JH summer league, said their 7/8/9th graders combined for two wins this year.

Seems like he has had a ton of success at that school makes one question why he would even consider that move. Unhappy at current school?smurray wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 10:02 pmI hope notPVBearcat2012 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 8:17 pmThe guy you’re talking about isn’t coming...I’ve heard the Bearcats tried and the timing didn’t work out.
Re: Offseason Rumblings
This coaching stuff is out of control almost everywhere. Kinda of sad most these kids don’t have a coach for very long. Good luck everybody

What happened at Adena? Why would he want to leave so soon after a championship season? Seems like he had built a pretty good program.
Re: Offseason Rumblings
You’ll see how good of a program he built in the next couple of years.
But, it’s still nothing more than a lateral move for the next 4-5 years.

From Litter Media:
A selection committee tasked with finding a new boys varsity basketball coach at Paint Valley High School has made their recommendation to the board of education, according to a member of the selection committee.
Former Adena High School and Ohio University-Chillicothe Coach Jason Smith has been recommended by the five-person committee, which included Paint Valley HS Principal Joe Holbert, Athletic Director Lew Ewry, Board of Education Member Dave Shoemaker and community members Casey McFadden and Randy Chrisman.
If hired by the Paint Valley Board of Education, Smith would replace Bob Williams, who is being non-renewed as the Bearcats coach. Williams led the Bearcats program over the last few seasons.
In five seasons as the Warriors coach, Smith from a one-win team his first year, to 12 and 16 wins in his final two seasons. That included trips to the district tournament his final season.
