Ok. So maybe valley and western are comparable. Maybe they aren’t. Just trying to compare common opponents.

WCH - 60 Logan - 58
Logan basketball with 4.4 remaining and the game tied at 58. Isaiah Haithcock gets a steal and passes up the floor to Reico Colter who makes a layup at the buzzer. Colter finished with 30 on the night.
This is the 4th game this season that Logan has lost at the buzzer. Unreal.

I noticed Valley doing more subbing throughout the game, starting in the 1st which I liked to see.transplant wrote: Tue Jan 25, 2022 10:12 pm Ok. So maybe valley and western are comparable. Maybe they aren’t. Just trying to compare common opponents.
Still don’t have a final but I’d guess somewhere in the hood of 64-36

Western beat Valley by 14. It was their 5th game in 8 days.transplant wrote: Tue Jan 25, 2022 9:30 pmExactly. What was the western and paint valley score? Since comparing scores is scientific method.
Why bring that up?? Because being tired and a lot of games in a short amount of time is THE SAME excuse I read on here given for Valley in recent losses.
What’s good for the goose…
I’ll repeat myself again as on other threads. I am only arguing against the dismissive nature of statements against Western.
Here’s a trick a lot of people on here like to play. Talk down about a team….everyday…every game…and then someday they lose…and then they say “See I told you.” Lol.

Valley is Valley and western is western. Who cares! If and until they play smack talk is nothing more the gibberish.

Re: Tuesday,1/25/22 games and scores.
those games were against piketon, huntington, and green combined record of 19-30 right now. Valleys games in a similar span were Minford (who they split with, burg, and webster (who they split with) with a combined record of 26-16 right now. I'm not dismissing western at all, they might be legit, who knows. But you cant sit here and honestly tell yourself they have played a tough schedule to be able to compare to other teams accurately. I have never talked down about western, I have never seen them play, i'm just going by their schedule, and common opponents. It will all come out in the wash and teams will show how good they are in the tournament. Good luck to your indians.JustAnObserver wrote: Wed Jan 26, 2022 1:10 amWestern beat Valley by 14. Paint Valley might win the SVC and Valley isn’t that good right now

Valley and Western are in the upper echelon of the SE District D4 schools. Valley plays a decently tougher schedule. Valley on an off night can lose to South Webster, Western on an off night can lose to Symmes Valley. Not a big difference there. New Boston loss was bad but will ignore and call an outlier.
Valley has been way more challenged and has a higher ceiling….and Western on a given night could beat them, on most nights I don’t feel they do. There are many factors.
Both teams are greatly satisfying their fans.
I’ll call Valley the Chiefs and Western the Bengals

79-35 lucasville over Western on 3/3/21. Lucasville has basically all the same players with 4 of 5 starters. How has western's line up changed?

I noticed that too. I believe in order for them to make a deep run, they are going to need 2 bench players to be able to step up to provide some positive minutes. The only way they are going to be ready to go when their number is called is to see some game action before 3 minutes to go in the 4th when both teams empty the benches. Hopefully they can continue to get 6th and 7th man on the floor to continue to give them confidence in game situations.coop wrote: Tue Jan 25, 2022 10:32 pmI noticed Valley doing more subbing throughout the game, starting in the 1st which I liked to see.transplant wrote: Tue Jan 25, 2022 10:12 pm Ok. Better go back and watch the film again coach. Western was up big at half, yes. Then score was 44-34 with 5 minutes to go and starters on the floor. Western jumped out big, let PV back in and Western made free throws late to hold on.AnkleBraces wrote: Tue Jan 25, 2022 10:08 pmIt got to almost 30 and subs for both teams played a lot late

Re: Tuesday,1/25/22 games and scores.
Portsmouth avenged an earlier loss at home to Rock Hill, beating the Redmen on their court 69-58. PHS held a 9 point lead at the half, then stretched the lead to about 15 with 5 three pointers in the 3rd quarter. The Trojans maintained a healthy lead in the 4th quarter and ended up winning by 11. Tyler Duncan led Portsmouth with 18 points, including 5 threes. Donovan Carr added a 3, as did Kenny Sanderlin. Sanderlin scored double figures again, as did Daryionne Bryant. PHS was 11-20 from the FT line, not really that good, but better than in some other games.
It was the 2nd time this season that Portsmouth beat an OVC opponent on their court after losing at home to them. PHS lost at home to South Point in early December, then beat the Pointers earlier this month. Rock Hill beat the Trojans @PHS in early January, then the Trojans returned the favor last night @RH.
PHS is now 6-8 on the season, 3-6 in the OVC, and finally out of last place. The Trojans moved up to 6th, and travel to Gallia Academy on Friday. Portsmouth will entertain North Adams on Saturday.
