Yeah, makes me wonder if something happened and make some folks mad or something? Where are all the current openings?

Wheelersburg has been filled in house and it’s not who many people expected it to be.

Interesting hire on a few levels. I'm more interested in who the staff will be filled out with.*bbjunky81 wrote: Tue May 24, 2022 1:43 pm Wheelersburg has been filled in house and it’s not who many people expected it to be.
Re: Coaching Openings
Is there a full list of current openings in SE Ohio? With summer workouts/camps/shootouts it would stand to reason these jobs would be filled very soon.

NW Ohio native Austin Gardner is getting his first head coaching job as the varsity boys basketball coach at Marietta HS in SE Ohio. Played college ball at the University of Findlay and I believe was most recently a grad assistant at BGSU.

Re: Coaching Openings
Google says Austin Gardner three years on BGSU staff and another year at Findlay High School.

If the grapevine holds water... and some are saying it does *cough*. An ex player and an ex head coach may be coming back to lead the Greenfield McClain Tigers. Stay tuned.

People have been saying for a couple years that Huffer wanted the job and would take over when Joe B was done.soggybottomtopper wrote: Sat May 28, 2022 2:42 pm If the grapevine holds water... and some are saying it does *cough*. It'll be very interesting to see if they don't try to move back down to SOC1 as soon as they can in order to help him be more successful.transplant wrote: Tue May 31, 2022 5:33 amYeah, didn’t shock anyone with that hire I don’t think. If they are smart they will try to move back down, they really don't have any business being in SOC2. Wonder what the youth teams look like there, is there any talent coming up?Tigernation2021 wrote: Tue May 31, 2022 8:03 amIt'll be very interesting to see if they don't try to move back down to SOC1 as soon as they can in order to help him be more successful.transplant wrote: Tue May 31, 2022 5:33 amYeah, didn’t shock anyone with that hire I don’t think. Re: Coaching Openings
They had some talent coming up but because of the involvement of the HS football coach with the kids in JH, they lost 3 kids to Waverly and 1 to Minford who played football and basketball, and lost one of their best basketball players who played PG to Minford as well. They had a 6th grade travel team when all of those kids were still around minus 1, who was a year younger and not playing and they played Wheelersburg 3 times that year and it came down to the end in every game. Lost but it came down to the very end in all 3 and was back and forth all games. So as it stands right now there's no way they compete in SOC2 play they'll have their hands full just playing SOC1 teams.transplant wrote: Tue May 31, 2022 8:06 amIf they are smart they will try to move back down, they really don't have any business being in SOC2.
