Wow. I really didn’t expect that Athens score. What are some of you alls prospective of the game?

VC just out played Athens-- Athens got down early and had no answer to get back into the game. They were running their offense to shoot threes, but did not look to take the ball to the paint till the 3rd qtr-then it was to late, I also did not see this coming-really thought it would be a better game.

VC is just a bad match up for Athens. I will say the future looks bright for the Bulldogs. I was impressed with their freshman and JV teams

TVC standings - Christmas edition:

After a 65-30 win over Athens last week, the Vinton County Vikings have won five straight and sit alone atop the TVC-Ohio. Perhaps the only thing standing in the way of the Vikings winning their 11th championship since 2007 is a trip to the Alley on Jan 20th to face the (7-2) Spartans. Federal Hocking has taken a half-game lead over Trimble in the Hocking Division after its win over Waterford last Tuesday. The Lancers, despite playing the toughest schedule in the county, have rattled off six straight victories including big wins over Paint Valley, Morgan and Waterford. Also in the stretch was a 9-point win over Belpre, which has won 4-of-5 and perhaps could give the Lancers fits in the return game at the Eagles Nest on Jan. 24th. The Tomcats are still undefeated in league play after surviving an overtime thriller at South Gallia. The big county rivalry game against Fed Hock is right around the corner. The two teams square off for the first of two games next Friday, Jan. 6th in Glouster.

I try not to - I make myself look bad enough trying to rank the teams although if you take the rankings and go from there I’m usually pretty close …
