Waverly with some fight tonight. 7 points first quarter and 4 the 2nd for 11 at the break. They were getting open looks, couldn't throw it in the ocean.
They came out 2nd half and started making some shots and got to within 10 with a couple possessions to cut it to single digits but couldn't convert.

I couldn't make it ,but a nice win for Portsmouth at Fairland,a very tough place to win plus we have not beat them in like what seems a 100 years.
Portsmouth has been close to some huge wins all year, basketball is one sport that doesn't really matter how you play regular season " except for seeding" but how you play during the one and done season

LOL! Not sure what game you were watching, at one point in the second half Waverly had 6 fouls against them and Webster had 0.The Ghost of Swanker wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 8:19 pm 4:10 52-40
Literally not calling any hacks on Waverly. All game lol

The Trojans very well could have won their recent game against South Point, probably even led the majority of the game. Very good win tonight, big confidence booster.biggdowgg wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 9:54 pm I couldn't make it ,but a nice win for Portsmouth at Fairland,a very tough place to win plus we have not beat them in like what seems a 100 years.

Waverly hit some good looks but closest they got was 10. Sitting on my side it never felt like this one was in any danger even when they did cut it down. No outcome on the results of this one but Roberts got hacked everytime he drove the basket and only shot two foul shots all night on the dunk attempt that they probably should’ve called a flagrant on.
Waverly is getting better.
Sorry about your guys big screen

How many of those were shooting fouls? I watched the same game. It didn’t have any bearing on the outcome of this one but Roberts probably should’ve got 12 freebies. It was laughable at one point but good on him for continuing to attack the basket. Just have to dunk on em i guessInTheJungle wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 10:16 pmLOL! I’m not saying there wasn’t times when he was fouled when driving, but they weren’t calling anything the other way at all, so kind of hard to complain about it, Roberts should have been in foul trouble, multiple times he hit both of Haynes arms while attempting to block him. Also #14 could be called for an offensive foul every time he drives the ball. Also listening to Webster coaches during timeout early in 4th, they didn’t feel this game was under control. The Ghost of Swanker wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 10:29 pmHow many of those were shooting fouls? Re: Tuesday,1/24/23.games and scores.
I thought the screen hit was funny that sucker flew up there. 31-11 at half and Waverly dropped 18 in the 3rd there wasn't enough time to be overly concerned but man the JV coach don't know his name was ripping those guys in the 4th quarter during the 2nd TO they took. I felt both teams got away with stuff and while I don't believe Roberts should've shot as many FTs as you he should've gotten to the line more than 4 times, thought he shot 2 in the 1st half and 2 in the 2nd half. Summer boy has a nice shot and high basketball IQ but he's got to keep that arm down he's not going to get away with using the forearm all night come post season time. The dunk attempt wasn't a flagrant foul he got ball and hands then they landed, now on the steal Roberts got for an easy dunk our PG would like his arms back that he took with him when he ran across them to get a "steal". Dunk on them if you can and walk up the court when you can't, love to see someone really get that kid straightened out a ton of talent there but overall effort and want simply isn't there. The Ghost of Swanker wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 10:23 pm Waverly hit some good looks but closest they got was 10. Loved the effort going into the break down 31-11 and the type of season we've had would've been easy to just pack it in for the night but those kids all fought tooth and nail to get back into it halfway through the 4th. Probably one of the better if not the best half of basketball we've played all year. Tough one coming up Saturday though Miami Trace is a beast of a team.smurray wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 9:41 pm Waverly with some fight tonight. 7 points first quarter and 4 the 2nd for 11 at the break. Re: Tuesday,1/24/23.games and scores.
Warren controlled most of the game but Point Pleasant kept it within striking distance and then hit a couple big threes down the stretch and got into the bonus pretty early on in the fourth and converted their free throws. A lot of fouls called in the game for both teams. Point Pleasant’s height hurt Warren at times, too. Point is probably better than their record and Warren did things very out of character for any Maddox coached team at Warren; such as fouling quite a bit and turning the ball over.

Looks like the Burg shot the ball more than dribble, dribble, dribble, pass . No points for dribbling.
