D4 District Semi's prediction

#1 Fairfield vs. #8 Western
#4 Paint Valley vs. #5 Green

#2 Federal Hocking vs. #7 Eastern Pike
#3 South Webster vs. #11 Whiteoak

Only upset is Whiteoak over Notre Dame. I think that game is a true coin flip, I just wanted to pick an upset somewhere. Whiteoak seems to be playing a little better as of late.

D4 District Finals prediction:

#1 Fairfield vs. #4 Paint Valley
#7 Eastern Pike vs. #3 South Webster

Taking Eastern in the upset if they were to meet. I think Eastern matches up pretty well with Fed Hock, I'm just unsure if they'll be able to consistently score with Hock. If they do, I like the upset.

D4 Regional Semi matchups

#1 Fairfield vs. Northside Christian (Columbus Bracket)
#3 South Webster vs. River (East Bracket)




These are all just predictions, I could see potentially 6-7 different D4 SEO teams win the district.

To The Ghost of Swanker, the Jeeps will beat Notre Dame again. No way Notre Dame can run with them on a bigger neutral court and definitely no way the Metzler kid hit shots like he did in that game at ND.

I think the coaches got it right this year -- no extreme outliers anywhere and seems fair across the board.

In terms of matchups I've really got my eye on (if they were all to get that far, of course):

- If Western were to beat Waterford, them vs. Leesburg could possibly be interesting. Western is playing better and is well coached.

- Paint Valley and Green would be fun. They matchup pretty well. Sampson vs. Estep would be awesome to see.

- Eastern Pike has the pieces to give Fed Hock some trouble. Granted, Eastern has to get by Trimble first. But if they do, Eastern Pike is no joke and has guards that can handle it and a big man in the middle who's only gotten better and better.

- Notre Dame vs. Whiteoak could be interesting. Notre Dame is better, but Whiteoak has a stud senior in Barnett. If there's one thing we've learned in the tournament over the years --- never count out a team with a stud senior.

While you do make some good points, I digress:

1. No way Western Brown is good enough to beat Waterford. TVC flexes its muscles once again.

2. Howie worked his magic. Trimble rolls on Eastern just like they beat the brakes off our version of Eastern every season. This pays into his master plan to upset the Lancers. An early end to a great season will be a hard pill to swallow. Nonetheless, here we are.

I suggest Trimble get it together going into tourneys with Eastern, but an upset on the mighty lancers? No chance

yes full press but that doesnt matter because they are 10 deep... I can go get 10 kids out of study hall and play all 10 but that doesnt mean im 10 deep...just means they arent very good.

I agree the team chemistry isn’t there and they’re merry go round of substitutions doesn’t work well at times for them. But all the pieces of the puzzle are there if they can just figure it out. But it’s gonna take someone besides their head coach they have right now to figure it out.

No I agree they very easily could be 2nd in the SOC2 right now. Nobody has blown us out except minford. The way this has been going though I see an early exit and yet another wasted year. write it down now, Webster will get down 12-14pts tomorrow night on senior night before they kick it in gear. Until they get the 6’8 monster to act like a monster and not a little girl everytime things don’t go his way, and to play defense with the other 4 guys running the darn floor, maybe then they’ll contend. Until then there’s 4 other guys on the bench who are going to give it 150% every single second out there. Play those guys

If I was one of his teammates that was busting my butt while he walks and is lazy getting down the court. Then he and I would have to have a huge not so pleasant discussion. I don't care how tall or famous he thinks he is. The team needs to call him on the carpet where are the upperclassmen?

It may be too late for this season for them to figure it all out, but there is a remedy for the lack of team chemistry and poor floor discipline; but is administration at Webster willing to do it going forward.
