Gotta push this one back up to the top! a great Thursday lineup in Tiger Town ... Fairland vs Linsly should be outstanding - I saw the Warren vs Lnsly game ... will be a great barometer game for the Dragons AND for those of us in the cheap seats in comparing teams in the Elite 8 ... the folks in Ironton do a great job with this event every year as well - get out and see quality in and out of state basketball ...

Pfloyd what can you tell us dragon fans about Linsly? Know they are a prep team out of wheeling and just got by Warren this season. Any specifics on players or style of play?

Dragonguy13, they've put together a talented team for sure ...length/size (6-9, 6-6, 6-5 starting front line with 6-6 or 6-5 coming off the bench) - athletic/quick defensive ... pressure the ball 94 ft or in the half court .... shoot the 3 ball , get to the rim ... transition game ... I've described a "prep" team - if you go out and recruit or put together a team Linsly is what you come up with ... names like Will Taylor pg - shoots the 3 ball well ... 6-5 Na'eef Lubowa - the most athletic player at both ends - creates for himself shoots well ... D'arre Vaysbakh - does it all at 6-7 ... others #24 Kecman 6-6, Uros Petrusic #20 jr. 6-9 length, defender ... might be the quickest team with size I've seen in high school hoops from 1-8 in the rotation ... I was very impressed with Warren vs THIS prep team ... Warren actually had the lead with under 3 minutes to play in the 4th ... 3 empty possession did Warren in vs this kind of talent ...

Seems like 21st is stacked with local teams and 22nd with prep teams. Lots of intriguing matchups on day 1.

Did a very tiny bit of research on Providence Christian who Portsmouth will now take on. They seem like they might be pretty good, off to an 8-3 start this year, shoot the 3 ball well, decent size (more than Portsmouth). Coming off a Final 4 appearance down in Georgia last year. Of course I don’t know the competition level they play against, but the Trojans may have their hands full.

Coached by Peake alumni Joey Thacker. They are almost always good. Joeys son, Sam, broke some records last year for 3 point shooting. Lost several key players from last year but I’m sure they have reloaded

I seen the Thacker boy has been putting up a ton of points so far this year for them. Averaging like 28 per game or something like that.

I'm glad the Trojans were able to pick up this game after the Stivers cancellation. Competition like this can only make the Trojans better.

BuckeyeBlood: Thanks for the info on Providence Christian. I saw on the GHSAA website that PC finished state runnerup in 2023 in Class AA.

ALWAYS a good thing to pick up and play vs teams that will challenge YOUR team ... you ALWAYS "learn" as a player in games like this - it can only help down the road ... best of luck to your Trojans in this one! ...

Will the games be streamed? If not I hope someone can do updates as the games are being played.
