I think so too.

Hillsboro with a solid transfer, great point guard and the district POY, very well coached. Jackson also well-coached and a nice transfer will help. I think these two battle it out.

Hillsboro 64
@Wilmington 52

Davis went off for 26, sophomore Jack Howland 18 points

Wilmington was led by sophomore Jayceon Kibler with 18…Kibler transferred to Hillsboro this summer but back at Wilmington, probably a good thing for FAC opponents as Hillsboro has enough to deal with.

Jackson 60
Athens 30

Final

That’s the most layups Jackson has ever had in school history.

I completely agree, there had to be 20 or more assists in that 60 pts.
I'd also venture to say that may be the lowest number of 3pt attempts by the junior class since they were shooting on 8 ft rims circa 2015... lol
It was good to see the versatility for that team.

Athens played physical, and had some good moments, just couldn't quite find a way to match up successfully.

I thought their adjustments were putrid…if we do that all year I’ll change my opinion lol

Jackson 40
Logan Elm 38

Final OT

Physical game between two sound defensive teams. LE had a small lead most of the game and Jackson couldn’t get over the jump until late in OT. Neither team subbed much and great efforts by the 12 kids that played most of the game. Jenkins with 17 for Jackson and Woodard 14…both were huge and I’m not sure either of them came out of the game. LE #3 had 15 points and was key for the Braves. Bigger guard also had 15 off the bench.

Miami Trace 54
Jackson 47

MT led most all of the way Jackson just couldn’t get within a possession. Great efforts both ways. First half was very physical and the 2nd half the same type plays were called fouls. Jackson had trouble with the MT length. MT guards are 6’4 and about 6 3 1/2…both with long arms and good bounce and it makes it tough….then there’s 6’6+ Guthrie who cleans up everything.

I thought Jackson missed several shots at the rim in thought of being blocked…we used to do that against older brother Guthrie and company a few years back. Jackson could’ve won this game. A few bounces and a couple tough calls with about 3-4 min left and just couldn’t close it up. MT scored every trip it seemed. MT made every free throw I think in the 4th. Guthrie had 17 but MT was balanced with 7-10 from the others on the scoreboard. Woodard led Jackson with 13 but fouled out on a couple touchy calls early in the 4th qtr…that hurt.

Didn’t feel like very many offensive boards in this game and turnovers probably a bit high on Jackson (maybe not) and Jackson had trouble getting MT to turn it over.

Tough game, good game….rematch at MT will be a good one. MT played 8 strong and Jackson 7 strong. Both teams very well coached.

Free throws: MT 30, Jackson 7

Looks like Chillicothe knocked off Hillsboro so FAC should be fun to the wire

@Ironman92 I thought the refs got a little too involved in the game in the 4th, The big surprise was MT's 6foot freshman PG, G. Bowers and how he would handle the pressure from Jackson, he looked really good also J. Baker did an excellent job guarding Woodard......MT is very long.
C. 6'7 Guthrie - Jr
F. 6'4 Sky Salyers - SR
F. 6'3 T. Robinette - SR
G. 6'2 J. Baker - Soph.
G. 6'2 Bowers - Fresh.
Bench
G. 6'2 - Luke Armstrong - JR
F. 6'3 - Cade Whittaker - JR

Can't imagine MT if they still had the following players
Jr - Lucas King - 6'4 F - Hamilton Township
Sr - Christian Heath 6'0 G - Adeana
Jr - Grant Guess - 6'4 G - Kettering Alter

Yeah…I watched Bowers in 8th grade, so I’m not surprised he’s starting but he was very good at taking care of the ball and held strong in the 2nd half. In the first quarter he looked like a freshman trying to finish but definitely improved.

Woodard had 13 and fouled out with 6ish minutes left. The ball doesn’t go through him in the offense a great deal. When he gets it and decides to go…he’s good. He does everything well, arguably the most important player. MT’s defense in general was excellent.

Jackson 46
McClain 45

Final

McClain played a good 2nd half and it couldn’t have been tighter. Jackson led 31-15 at half. Jackson played without Stephen Jenkins and needed him pretty good in the 2nd half.
