Congrats to the Tigers for hitting the century mark!

Coach G has built something special in Marietta. What an amazing accomplishment.

Were you there to watch it Pioneer? I listened to some of it while I was watching another game. Brayden Jones scored 49 points on 13 threes, and sat out part of the first half and more than half of the last two quarters.

Clay Battelle came into the season ranked #7 in West Virginia Class A and was 3-0 this season, after an 18-7 record last year. Thought it might be a sizeable margin but nothing like this.

I was not. Listened on the radio, wasn't making the 2+ hour trip on WV backroads to watch us play a single 'A' team. Sounds like this game probably shouldn't have been scheduled, but when you've only got 6 league games I guess you take who you can get. This team is making the return trip to Marietta next month as well.

Brayden Jones did break the boys school record for points in a game with those 49 points, so congrats to him on that achievement. He shot the absolute lights out of the gym tonight.

13 3's ties him for 4th on the Ohio HS most 3's in a game list.

Sorry my friend, stomping the snot out of a tiny school does not give you an automatic pass into the OVAC Big School final. We will find out a lot more about Marietta in the coming days.

He may have broke the boys single game record but Erica Dawson scored 52 vs Meadowbrook.

Obviously didn't expect 112-40, but I did figure this one would be ugly. Outside of a couple teams, Single 'A' WV basketball is just not comparable to Ohio basketball.

No running clock in WV.

30-8 1st
63-24 half
8?-3? 3rd - can't remember off the top of my head
112-40 final

Regardless of the opponent, I’m sure it’s a confidence booster for Marietta. I do believe the sky is the limit for Marietta this year. They have the most “basketball” players that’s I’ve seen this year, including Parkersburg South HS. I look for big things out of the Tigers. Congrats on the Jones kid for lighting it up….impressive no matter what way you look at it!
