Zane Trace (7-0) at Unioto (4-2)

Post by petesweaty »

This should be a tight game. ZT is still not at full strength, but has played well enough to stay undefeated. Really, ZT has only played two competitive teams so far in Westfall and Circleville. Unioto lost to Westfall and a very good Miami Trace team. Zane Trace plays MIami Trace at home on Saturday.

I think this game comes down to who plays the best defense and rebounds. Look for a low scoring game in the 40s.

We’ll have this one of the SOSA YouTube page

Zane Trace is already good, but could be unreal when Jarrell returns in a couple of weeks if they mold well.

Unioto had Perkins out last night, so if he’s not 100% on Friday, I think Zane Trace takes a major leg up in the league race.

The last 3 of these games played at Unioto have had a game winning shot in the final seconds, it wouldn’t surprise me if that trend continues on Friday.

Perkins will play on Friday. I would be shocked if he did not. Zane Trace has been smoking hot from the three point line for about the last five games. If they continue that, this game will be a 10+ point game for the Pioneers.

I agree if Zane Trace keeps it rolling offensively they win the game by double digits. I don't follow the SVC like the SOC but both times I watched ZT(Southeastern/Waverly) I was impressed. They played hard and can shoot it

I like the U’s squad but they just somehow find ways to lose big games.

Unioto 48
Zane Trace 36

Final

ZT cooled off from 3 point territory, as it had to do somewhat with the Unioto defense. ZT went on a 13-0 run to take a 28-22 lead late in the 3rd quarter. Unioto did not score for a very long time as the Pioneers went to a zone. Unioto then got a couple transition buckets and ZT came out of the zone for some reason. Game was closer than the finall score. Both teams missed numerous "bunny" shots in the game.

I was going to make a post, but you pretty much said what I was going to. Way too many bunnies missed by both teams, but also too many turnovers by ZT.

This was a 4-6 point game when ZT started to foul, which ultimately made the score seem lopsided since ZT got ice cold once that happened.

Unioto did not score for 10 minutes. Still won by 12 points in the end.

Would’ve guessed Unioto by 15 before the game. But I’ll take 12. Will be a much different game at ZT with LJ back
