Really excited to see Chillicothe vs. Portsmouth. The Cavaliers are the Trojans' second most frequent opponent, having played 88 times, with CHS holding a 45-43 lead. PHS leads in tournament play 9-4. Ironton is Portsmouth's most frequent opponent, having played the Fighting Tigers 170 times, with PHS leading 94-76.
Looks like the overall schedule has some good matchups.

Warren vs Minford will be a great matchup!!
Re: Buckeye Elite Basketball Showcase at SSU on Jan. 18th, 2025
clevelandbrowns#1 ... exactly right on the money with this matchup! Myles Montgomery(MHS) vs Julian Stadelman (WHS) ... Stadelman doesn't get the push from the media but the young man is as good as ANY PG in SEO ... PG/2 guard shooter & scorer - simply outstanding ... I am assuming the broken wrist suffered in the New Lex game at the Convo has taken care of itself by now although he missed a big chunk of summer ball with the Warren Team due to waiting for doc ok to play - I believe I read somewhere on one of the threads that Stadelman played some towards the end of the summer season ... Montgomery vs Stadelman enough to get me there but throw in the 7-8 seniors Warren brings back - Cressey/Sealey/Wells/Anthony/Lupardus/Cochran/Barry to name a few to go with Stadelman matching up with Shoemaker/Kayser ... Warren is deeper across the board but they will be learning to live without the game contributions of 6-7 Trent Taylor's 16ppg & 8 rbs per game ...
... I like the Fairland vs Hillsboro game as well ...Coach Speed's Fairland Dragons will be in a (for the Dragons) rebuilding year Brody Buchanan will be the guy at PG/SG that will run the show finding players to fit around the lefty will be a big task while Hillsboro will be imo one of the quality teams to beat in SEO all season ...Tate Davis & Jack Howland are the real deal on the perimeter - as good as you will find anywhere in SEO ... transfers Xander Lake ... 6-4 or 5 so. - East Clinton & Jayceon Kibler ... 6-0 - Wilmington will add to the depth for Coach Howland's Indians ... this one will be fun ...

In the first game of the showcase, we will see the Lady Bulldogs of Athens HS traveling to SSU to take on the Notre Dame Lady Titans. Game #2: Western Brown Broncos (2-6) vs Greenup Co. Musketeers (3-8)
The 2nd Game of the Buckeye Elite Basketball Showcase will match up the Western Brown Broncos, out of the Southern Buckeye Conference’s American Division against the Greenup Co. Musketeers out of the 16th Region of Kentucky.
After a slow start to the season (0-5) the Broncos have won 2 of their last 3 games and stand at 2-6 on the season. The Broncos are led by junior Conner Gulley at 16.6 pts/game. He is supported in the scoring category by senior Jett Jamison with 8.8 pts and junior Brayden Dill at 6.6 pts/game.
Greenup Co. has also faced some very good competition and are looking to get back in the win column (3-8). The Musketeers are led by Kasey Gammon (Jr) at 14.9 pts., Bryson Chandley (Sr) 11.3 pts. and Bradley Adkins (Jr) 8.6 pts/game.
Regardless of the records this matchup could result in a very entertaining game. Both teams have a lot of similarities on both offense and defense. The Broncos are averaging 50.9 pts per game while the Musketeers are averaging 49.3 pts. On the defensive end of the floor the Broncos are allowing 56.6 pts, and the Musketeers are giving up 61.2. These numbers indicate both squads are evenly matched. All things considered, Game #2 could lead to a very competitive and entertaining game at the Buckeye Elite Basketball Showcase.
We encourage you to make plans to attend this year’s event and support your favorite team. All proceeds from this event, stay in southern Ohio and benefit local charities in or around Scioto County.

Game #3: Fairland Dragons (6-1) vs Hillsboro Indians (3-3)
In the 3rd game of the day, the Fairland Dragons from the Ohio Valley Conference will take on the Hillsboro Indians out of the Frontier Athletic Conference. Both teams are similar on the offensive end of the floor as they both average in the low 50’s pts per game. Fairland averages 51.7 pts per game while Hillsboro scores at a pace of 53.3 pts per game. The glaring difference between the two teams is the number of points they allowed per game. Fairland is giving up a stingy 39.6 pts per game while Hillsboro allows 56.2 points per game.
This matchup promises to be a very great game against two good teams from two very good basketball leagues.

Game #4 (3:30 PM) Cin. Country Day (3-5) vs Coal Grove (4-4)
In the 4th game of the day, we will welcome the Nighthawks from Cincinnati Country Day High School to the Buckeye Elite Basketball Showcase to take on Ohio Valley Conference foe, Coal Grove.
Once again, these teams seem to have a lot in common. Both teams are looking to get on a little roll heading into the second half of the season. Both squads have faced challenging early season schedules and believe this game will help them in the second half of the season. Cin. Country Day is averaging 52.5 pts on offense and allowing 58.0 pts. On the other side, Coal Grove is averaging 59.9 pts per contest and giving up 61.0 pts. On paper this looks like a good matchup. The contrast in schools and communities truly highlights why the showcase exists. Two schools who normally would not play each other come together to provide a great experience for everybody involved.

Game #5 (5:00 PM) Portsmouth Trojans vs Chillicothe Cavaliers
Game #5 will rekindle one of the great rivalries in all southern Ohio. A Portsmouth/Chillicothe matchup in any sport at any time of the season always brings out the best in both schools and both fanbases. This game will bring back great memories of a once fierce rivalry. Throw out the records and embrace this matchup as it will bring out a lot of old-time basketball enthusiasts. The B.E.B.S. is excited to host this game for all true basketball fans.
Portsmouth is led by 5’10” senior, Malachi Loper. The Trojans are averaging 50.9 pts on the offensive end and giving up 63.5. But throw out those numbers out when you are talking a Portsmouth/Chillicothe matchup. The same thing can be said about Chillicothe's offensive and defensive numbers. Chillicothe is averaging 52.2 pts per game and giving up 51.8 pts per game. They are led by 6’2” junior, Cooper Stoneking.

Game #6 (6:30 PM) Minford Falcons vs Warren Warriors
Game #6 will be one of the best matchups in all southern Ohio on Jan. 18th. This game will feature two of PFloyd’s top 6 teams in his latest southern Ohio basketball ranking. Minford (8-0) is tied for the top spot while Warren (7-2) is ranked in the 6th spot.
Minford is currently averaging an impressive 74.0 pts per game and only giving up 48.9 pts. They are a senior led team with great experience and chemistry. They are led by the three-headed monster of Myles Montogomery, Bennett Kayser and Jackson Shoemaker.
Warren Local on the other hand is averaging 64.2 pts on the offensive and giving up a stingy 47.7 pts. They are also led by their own trio of players. Julian Stadelman (18.0/Game), Chase Lupardus (14.5/Game) and Connor Barry (7.0 pts) lead the Warrior into the great matchup.
This game will be well worth the $6 admission. But fans need to remember one ticket is good for all 7 games so huge crowds are anticipated throughout the day.

We are super excited that "pfloyd" is planning to attend this event. Nobody has done more to promote high school basketball "Below the Lancaster-Dixon Line" than the honorable pfloyd. If pfloyd is in the house then you know there is going to be some great basketball played.
Basketball fans stop by the BEBS and catch some great ball as well as chat with pfloyd.

LC Fan,
We would love to have you in attendance. The Buckeye Elite Basketball Showcase is about showcasing the teams, athletes, coaches and officials that participate in the event. The more people that experience the BEBS the better we feel about what we are doing. This is not a money grab for us ($6 tickets for all day) but a way to give back to southern Ohio.

Warren's pg/sg went off for 34 points including 4 treys ... the Stadelman vs Myles Montgomery matchup Saturday should be special - Montgomery for Minford will hit the 2000 pts in his high school career in February while Stadelman is beyond the 1000 pt milestone ... Minford sits at #1 and Warren will move to at least #4 ... the Buckeye Elite Basketball Showcase will have this one along with 6 more games ! you can watch them ALL for just $6 for entire days action ...

Re: Buckeye Elite Basketball Showcase at SSU on Jan. 18th, 2025
I'm looking forward to an outstanding day of hoops Below the Lancaster-Dixon Line this Saturday ... as I said, pfloyd's plan is to get there around the tip off for the Western Brown vs Greenup Co. game ... will be there the rest of the day doing napkin stats and observations of the rest of the games 3-7 ... $6 for ALL DAY !!! unheard of - great bargain to have all of these outstanding teams come to YOU in one location at SSU's Waller Gymnasium ... plenty of parking, within close proximity of some great P'town restaurants (having visions of walking thru the door at The Ribber in the post games) ... be safe in your travels everyone BUT make the trip for a great day of games at the Buckeye Elite Basketball Showcase this Saturday 1/18!!! ...
