Me and my pardner sat directly underneath the air duct in the far corner of the visitors side last year. That mf had to be blowing on full speed straight from the North Pole.

That stuff was wild. All because they lost their opener against a really strong Eastern team. The teams they’ve lost to have like a combined 6 losses, with most of those being because Harvest Prep plays a ridiculous schedule.

In regards to Jackson @ Burg earlier in the week, my 2 cents:

This was a game of runs for the majority of it. I think Burg could have closed out Jackson in the 1st half if they would've kept their foot on the pedal. But, they allowed the pace to slow some, and Burg certainly didn't keep the pace fast enough in the 2nd half or the game never would have seen OT.

Jackson is extremely unpredictable on the defensive end of the court. Depending on which team shows up, they might allow 30 pts, or 90... and I understand the difference in caliber of opponent, but it doesn't seem to matter.
Jackson did not defend well, but it also didn't help that their style of play was penalized pretty harshly by the foul calls. 4-5 players fouling out, when you only go 6/7 deep, makes it tough, and most of those were in foul trouble pretty early in the game.

Burg moved well without the ball, and their level of hustle was much higher than Jackson's. Burg played very well in transition, and they spread the floor A LOT... and capitalized on their FT opportunities.

Overall, great game to watch. Burg should be dangerous with any team that they can match up with size-wise.

... wasn't sure who would be able to report on this one being at Chillicothe, not much from any Chillicothe faithful here on SEOPS ... and with it being on the road wasn't sure if the Jackson folks were making the trip up Rte 35 tonight ... we appreciate you bc181700 ...always good games at the Hatton Gymnasium ! not an easy place to play, now with Coach Beard having the program moving in the right direction - not an easy W for sure ... I talked to one of the officals at the Portsmouth West vs Valley game the other night, he mentioned that Jackson had 4 players foul out ! wow ... as you mentioned with a short bench to begin with on a good night - losing 4 - I assume starters? - taking it to 2 OTs was an undertaking to begin with ... I saw the score in the 80's ! wondered out loud - WTH! - coming off a 30-29 win then losing putting up over 80 points LOL ... thanks bc181700

Opened the season with a loss against New Lexington, but I think they're a different team since they have gotten their basketball legs.

(So) Teagan Hurt knocking down two 3’s and a bucket a piece for the twins, (So) Gunnar and Sawyer Myers.
Valley was lead by (Jr) Christian Copen with 4, (So) Braxten Conaway with a trifecta and (So) Blake Lundy with a deuce.

Tigers extended to lead to 5 at the break, 21-16.
(So) Landyn Russell with a bucket and an and one for 5 points, (So) Sawyer Myers 4 and (Fr) Kage Alexander with a deuce.
Valley was lead by (So) Jaxsyn Bender with 5, and (Jr) Christian Copen with a bucket.

Tigers were 1-1 from the line in the first half while the Indians went 2-5 from the charity stripe.

Valley won the 3rd period closing the gap to 27-25 by the end of the period.
Copen lead the Indians with 6, Conaway added a bucket and Bender 1-2 from the line.
The Tigers Kage Alexander would net all of the Tigers 6 points - two buckets and 2-3 from the line.

The Tigers had a 7 point lead at 37-30 with 4:41 of the third before Conaway hit a 3 to close the Valley deficit to 4.
Valley would cut the lead to 2 with 3:566 to play before Russell and Alexander would push the lead back to 6 with 3:25 to play.
Conaway would connect on another trifecta with 1:27 to play to cut the Tiger lead to 41-38.
Waverly missed on a pair of FT’s with :55 to play.
Valley missed a pair of FT’s with :16 to play.
Hurt hit 1-2 FT’s for the Tigers with :13 to play to extend the Tiger lead to 42-38.
Valley missed on a three point attempt and hit a put back bucket at the buzzer for the 42-40 final.
