I know who that knucklehead was responding to and I responded to him (Friday morning). You too keep saying you’re not from Marietta but you keep crying about that game. Seems odd to me that you’re not from there but can’t get over them losing. Tell your team to play better next time and you might get a win.SouthEast Hoops Fan wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2025 10:18 amChuckie, looks to me like Hook was responding to MauraderMadness comment (Thursday afternoon) that Meigs was already behind by “double digits” because they had to play at Warren tonight. I’m not from Marietta but any objective observer at the Meigs-Marietta game knows the visitors outplayed them.Chuck Sheetz wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2025 9:58 amI see you still crying about that game. Sad. Time to move on and tell your team to get better if they want to come to Meggs and expect to win.Hookshot wrote: Thu Jan 23, 2025 5:32 pm
Not necessarily disagreeing with you about the Warren home court advantage. But Marietta was 8-10 points better than Meigs at Meigs on January 3 so there's that.

Pfloyd every Meigs JV game is a freshman game. 2 sophomores and the rest are freshman
Re: Meigs @ Warren 1/24
Great second half by the warriors!! Meigs missed several close shots that might have made this a game. Lupardus and wells handled their own inside. Great win Warriors!!

The game was physical both ways. **the_big_coach wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2025 9:28 pm Look like the ref’s were on warren’s side also, not taking anything away from Warren, they have a good team, but come on ref’s
16 point loss, and we’re blaming the refs?
Really, Meigs offensively couldn’t handle tournament style whistles.
Also taking forced fade away jumpers and 35 ft 3’s probably didn’t help meigs success either.

I don’t usually go to high school games and have no rooting interest, just wanted to watch a good game. The referee were fine nothing outrageous.
Both teams played physical but Warren guards just better tonight. Warren pretty much neutralized the inside play.
Re: Meigs @ Warren 1/24
Give us some facts on this. What was the foul count each side some kind of explanation. Yes a few blown calls either way. Two fouls under the basket where warren stripped the ball called fouls. One team was tougher and more physical than the other and they secured the win simple as that.the_big_coach wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2025 9:28 pm Look like the ref’s were on warren’s side also, not taking anything away from Warren, they have a good team, but come on ref’s

Welcome to big boy ball, Meigs. Refs this, refs that, doesn't matter. Warriors by double digits. Gotta be deflating for Meigs to come in undefeated and get ran out of the gym.

You’re just lucky Meigs didn’t pony up enough to get Howie to take that job. Else them refs would have been giving Meigs all the calls instead of Warren. But Meigs got what they paid for so it is what it is.bigblue52 wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2025 10:02 pm Welcome to big boy ball, Meigs. Refs this, refs that, doesn't matter. Warriors by double digits. I don't have the foul count offhand, but here's three stats I do remember off the top of my head...Katfan wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2025 9:39 pmGive us some facts on this. Meigs: 7/14 FT
Warren: 10/21 FT
Warren: 19/26 FG in the second half (73%)
Side comment: The way teams are shooting free throws in all the different games I've seen this year is atrocious.
Re: Meigs @ Warren 1/24
Fouls and free throws can be misleading. A team that drives to the basket more will get more fouls and shoot more free throws. Three point shooting teams will not. Megis shot a lot of threes in the first half especially (and a lot of them were quick). Regardless, pretty convincing win and very similar to the second Warren-Marietta game. Seems as though Warren is playing pretty good right now. Meigs could have become a little complacent as well so good game, good win for Warren, and maybe a good loss for Meigs. On to the next game.

The big difference between Howie and the Meigs coach is that Howie not only gets all the calls at home but he gets them on the road too. He wouldn’t have let Warren get most of the calls in this game.dboy wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 11:40 am Fouls and free throws can be misleading.
