I caught some of the radios stats last night. Webster out rebounded the Pirates 35-15, with 14 offensive rebounds. 7/14 from 3. Burg hit 3 for something. Overall shooting was something like 68% for the jeeps and 28% for Burg. Horrible free throw shooting from both teams shooting sub 50%. Jeeps had 6 turnovers for the game.
Also as I said in the very first post this game wouldn’t be as close as the first one since it’s not at the shoebox where Burg puts 8 men on the floor consistently. Wouldn’t be surprised if Burg takes Minford deep at the sweatshop.
1/24/25 burg @ SW (11-0) (homecoming)

If you really want to see 5 on 8 basketball go play at Southern. As good as your team is they’d have a tough time with their three best players on the bench in foul trouble most of the game. The Ghost of Swanker wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 2:53 pm I caught some of the radios stats last night. I don’t see where anyone said that….The Ghost of Swanker wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 11:31 amYour buddy said the SOc3 runs through Waverly next year.smurray wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 9:19 amLOL, Waverly doesn’t have a single Junior on the team so I guess the SW Junior class would be better than Waverlys.Eugene_2010 wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 9:07 am
I would take the junior class at South Webster over Waverly right now, and again next year when they're seniors. Those 3 are all capable of blowing a game open and dropping 20 points on any given night. They know their roll and let the big dogs eat for now. Stephens was him at the beginning of the season. He filled the scoring gap that was missed while Eli was out. Then he had an injury and Eli came back. Now he gives solid minutes off the bench. Barnard gets his whenever he wants it/when we need it. If you think you can beat Webster by keeping the ball away from the seniors then Barnard will beat you every time. He can drive it in or step out and hit the 3. I don't remember him ever taking a bad shot. And I fully believe Mcclintic is the best point guard off the bench in the area. When our stars are out, he runs the show.
And I hate to say this, but I have to disagree with you saying burg is out for several years. If you're making predictions like that for the future, you might wanna look at the Jr high teams. Waverly doesn't have a team worth putting in the gym. And the burg has been making the best teams look like they haven't played in a year
Waverly starts a freshman and 4 sophomores with the first sub off the bench being a senior for defensive purposes only. Next sub is another sophomore.
Bash the young Tigers all you want but they have won 7 games and lost some close ones.

Utter domination.
Wow
Just wow.
Has the burg dominance passed and gone? I don't see them winning SOC for several years to come not even close actually. It should run thru Waverly starting next season.
here u go smurray

I'm not saying Jr class vs Jr class. I'm saying the junior class is better than Waverly as a whole. This year, and again next year. You have 3-4 decent young guys. Nothing coming up behind them. You're acting like you have the state tournament team coming back. You might go .500 in league next year. We all know Minford is in trouble for a couple years after this season. Outside of them, I don't see Waverly running the league on anybody next year. You will win some games, and you'll lose some games. But the SOC title will definitely not be running through Waverlysmurray wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 9:19 amLOL, Waverly doesn’t have a single Junior on the team so I guess the SW Junior class would be better than Waverlys.Eugene_2010 wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 9:07 amI would take the junior class at South Webster over Waverly right now, and again next year when they're seniors. That group not beating waverly if they stay healthy. May win a game but not overall long term

No doubt, but there were red flags with that group since Jr high from talking to Burg folks I’d trust. Leadership and “distractions” been issues from the get-go, and now we seeing how that plays out. Haven’t heard any stories like that from the younger Burg classes.*fbnut wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 1:54 pmBurgs current jr class is a good example of not being able to predict high school success based on jr high successs. Watched a lot of Jr high and jv basketball last few years and thats how I see it. Always subject to change with free agency of course.*

Burg is just awful.
