No doubt…Montgomery and Kayser are the best 1-2 combo in SEOhio and proved it last night. Minford is used to those two handling the bulk of the shooting and scoring, and it works for them.allOhiotraveler wrote: Sat Feb 01, 2025 1:27 pmWhile I don't disagree that Webster only had two reliable score creators last night, it's very ironic to see that because Minford has only had two reliable shot creators for almost two seasons now lolart_vandelay wrote: Fri Jan 31, 2025 10:05 pm All the talk pregame of Kayser and Roberts, and Montgomery ends up being best player on the floor by far. 10-0 run by Minford to start 2nd half was the difference in the game. Their defense in 3rd quarter kept Webster from getting into their offense. Just a fun team to watch and ready to make that deep tourney run this year.
Webster was 2 v 5 on offense most of the game. Can’t have kids on the floor scared to shoot in a game like that. Stephens really showed me a lot though and will probably be seeing the floor a lot more as he started the second half for Webster. Jeeps will get another crack at Minford, but better put this one behind them quick with game at Notre Dame tomorrow night.*
This game really came down minford's two scorers just being better than Webster's. Can't wait to see if the role players at Webster step up when the game is at home.
Also thought Norm could've taken advantage the switching Minford did more with Roberts getting guards on him. I think he will be well prepared for the 18th.
Webster had Stephens and White step up to help Roberts, but their other guys had off nights in the scoring department. Overall though, the Jeeps played hard in a real tough road environment. Despite the loss, I don’t think any less of their chances to get to State in D7.*
