Beaver Eastern has had great football and basketball seasons, congratulations, you should be proud. Couple of comments about the game. As many had predicted, MC's length really gave Eastern trouble. Coach Lang putting Chance Allen on #3 was brilliant, he killed Cardington, but tonight, he struggled due to the defense. That threw their entire offense into a lurch. MC played outstanding defense tonight, and shot the ball well. I have to give credit to Tucker Howell, after lighting up North Adams, Eastern decided to be as physical as possible with him by putting their right tackle on him. Tucker showed his BB IQ tonight, instead of forcing things, he let all the other aspects of his game (passing, rebounding and defense) take center stage. On to the next round!

Leist looked far from 100%, unfortunate for Eastern, but I am not sure it would of made enough of a difference.

This right here was the difference in the game, eastern has a couple guys who can really lockup players defensively. They should’ve allowed them to go more 1-1 and go no help, because the role players won this game for MC. Howell was held to 2 points in the 1st half and Allen had either 6 or 8. Role players stepped up and knocked down shots. Congrats to Eastern on just another phenomenal season by this group of young men 2024/2025 year has been quite special for eastern. Down to the final 8 in both basketball and football.

Another convincing, low stress victory for Monroe Central. Good overall game. They limited their turnovers after the first few minutes of nerves and took command of this one early. Got to give a lot of credit to the younger, stocky Leist kid who did an excellent job of bodying up on Tucker Howell and forcing others to get involved in the scoring. I thought the 3's from Cooper Howell and Corbin Farnsworth were huge because it appeared as though that is what Eastern was willing to give up.

Also, got to give a huge hand to the faithful from the Monroe Central community. I have been to a lot of tournament games and nobody is bringing bigger crowds to these games than Monroe Central! Let's find a bigger venue for this next game!
