Anyway..

Great game Noles. I hope we get a little hotter from the outside in the next game… and make those free throws!!! 🙂

It was at least 80% Nole fans there today. Let’s take over Dayton and make history!!!!

Yes, indeed. You know I'm happy. As for the gripes about the fans, they are very passionate, especially this deep into the tourney. Those who don't like the MC fans protest, have obviously never been to a Seminoles football game, LOL!
Listen - passionate fanbase for sure and I'd rather have a passionate than dispassionate fanbase for sure. But you can tell when a line is crossed. ;)
From what I could hear, it was very mild. When I was in high school and playing, there were so many schools up in arms about our student section that I was not sure we'd have any fans left in the stands. Was I proud about that? No, but honestly, most of the noise was in jest and pretty innocuous. That said, the refs really didn't appreciate some of the chants, but they were classic for the late 70's and early 80's. Today, they would not fly. Let's face it, parents, in particular, can be pretty insufferable now. I wasn't in the stands, so I do not know what all was said. Let's do better Seminole fans in Dayton.
I can't compare those times versus now. But I think I just want MC fans to continue to enjoy this ride and not get caught up in a potential bad call as viscerally as they do. There are calls that are bad that deserve jeers. And parents/adults can be insufferable.

But the Noles are dominating on this ride to Dayton. Sometimes it's good to shrug that call off and cheer your team on instead of yell at the refs.

In my insignificant opinion, it felt like tonight the crowd screaming at the refs made their boys play a little tighter. Whereas I think the Noles would overcome and keep playing THEIR style if their fans would just cheer them on instead of making the environment tense by going ballistic on the refs.

But in other news, just one more for the Noles. Enjoy this great week!! Only 14 teams will be practicing basketball this week. Enjoy this awesome awesome moment! Players, parents, fans, and all!

100%. I totally agree with you. I know how the folks from MC can be, believe me. I don't like bad calls, and there were quite a few of them tonight, but don't get unglued. And you are absolutely correct, the tenor of the crowd can impact the psyche of the players. They can certainly get shook by the crowd, and lose focus. Hopefully, they take tonight's game, and Coach Lang uses it to help them into the final game. It should be a dandy!!

I’d hate for OhioTraveller to have taken in a Woodsfield/Beallsville football game back in the day. Or Martins Ferry/Bellaire. Or Steubenville versus anybody.

I didn’t hear anything bad. Yes the fans booed bad calls. Nothing I heard was directed at the Kirtland kids (or I would have intervened). Literally 80% of the crowd had to be MC fans so that amplified things. And to be honest there were bad calls any fan base would have reacted.

Ok that’s my last comment on that. The story isn’t about the fans. It’s about the incredible team that has led our communities on this fantastic ride the past 2 years.

Amen. On to the final! Congrats to these young men on the biggest win in program history. One more and they've got it!
