That’s if he played football remember he didn’t come out to play football till like 1st week. It’d be a great move for him both on the football field and in basketball, football is going to be a struggle this yr for Waverly.allaboutsports wrote: Mon Mar 17, 2025 7:57 amI believe he would easily stepTigernation2021 wrote: Sun Mar 16, 2025 6:20 amWhy does Alexander belong deserve to go to Eastern?? Granted it’d be a great move for the kid with what Eastern positions eastern lost be a perfect fit and win way more games in a year there than rest of his career at Waverly. Plus being DVI in basketball is a much easier path I mean they made elite 8 this year.GoAt 10 wrote: Sat Mar 15, 2025 10:31 pm I hope it is someone horrible and Alexander goes to Eastern where he belongs…
There I said it, you sissies!
In as one of there best WR and DB and be a true threat on offensive side of ball in football. Basketball he would be playing for a good coach as well and would take him to a new level. I do not believe they could guard him in football at the D7 level. He was excellent for waverly in football at D4 then drop 3 divisions. Would be fun to watch. Plus great coaching at Eastern. It is about the kids and getting better and building relationships and helping them get to colleges.

I don’t know so somebody, please fill me in. I was told the Webb kid was from Jackson. Is that true?
Alexander will stay at Waverly and clement his name as one of Pike Co.’s better all-round athletes. His best sport is baseball and he is not going to play baseball for any school in Pike Co. except Waverly.

Good for eastern means good for pike county, so I’m here for it. But this isn’t an eastern topic… maybe make your own and worry abt the eagles then.Tigernation2021 wrote: Mon Mar 17, 2025 5:31 pmYou mean responding to 3 different pplBossbaby69 wrote: Mon Mar 17, 2025 5:30 pmNo lol you just seemed to be getting mad firing off 3 responses in a row that has nothing to do with a topic go start an eastern topic if you wanna talk about Eastern.Tigernation2021 wrote: Mon Mar 17, 2025 5:28 pm

You dog Robertson, Miller, and Lockery and then put them in your top 5. Glad you’re holding yourself to those “higher standards.”bobcats94 wrote: Mon Mar 17, 2025 9:55 am All names mentioned are interested enough to at least have a sit down I’m sure. Robertson could definitely handle the parents but numbers have always been an issue for Travis. I’m not sure Travis keeps all the players who have considered moving at Waverly. I’m curious why there are still people who would argue Kyle Miller is the man to elevate a basketball program? Kyle would still be my first choice for a pickup game but Piketon yes has a talent problem but has gradually gotten worse every year. Anyone mentioning Coach Lockery from PV is a joke.I guess any experience nowadays is good experience?? If he was still at Eastern they wouldn’t have even been competitive the last 4 years. He should’ve never gotten that job.. Doug Williams is the obvious choice as far as local coaches go. I saw someone mentioned an Adams county coach but the only two worth having would be Peebles/North Adams coaches. I’ll be the negative one on here but we have to have a little higher standards than bringing in coaches that other schools are glad to get rid of… (Calahan and Bradley)
Ranking in order for who I would like to see:
1.) Someone new outside of the county(Arey, etc)
2.) Williams. hate to see him leave Latham tho.
3.)Robertson
4.)Miller
5.) Lockery
Re: Who will be the next Waverly head coach?
My bad, by top 5 I really meant only 5. They will be lucky to have more than 5 applicants. Blows my mind that Waverly can’t draw in more applicants for this job. I’m going to say last time this job was open they were left with choices of Bradley, Ward(or other assistant from Calahan staff), maybe Horton(who likely will apply this time), and Arey who never actually was interested. Maybe a phone call was made to Williams. So given the reality of the situation, yes out of those 5 who likely will be the only ones interested I would order them that way. I “dogged” them now I want to hear your positives so when they read this they all feel better. I’ll get you started by Miller made the sweet 16 almost 10 years ago.. Did Miller take your lunch money growing up or something? There’s way more to high school basketball than wins and losses.bobcats94 wrote: Tue Mar 18, 2025 8:29 pmMy bad, by top 5 I really meant only 5. They will be lucky to have more than 5 applicants. I really don't see Coach Arey leaving Peebles with all the talent has coming back. They will be very good for the next several years. Plus the 7th & 8th grade teams are very good as well.

Re: Who will be the next Waverly head coach?
With Dewines budget cuts to a lot of school districts, teaching and admin jobs are scarce in this area. Hard times to find a coach without job openings. Good luck to Waverly finding someone. All the other factors around this program don’t help either.

Is there a timeline on when the hiring decision is made?
Does the position need filled no later than early May to allow the new leader to transition into the summer/preseason program activities?

Waverly is close enough to Columbus to entice a good coach to come there.burgpirater wrote: Fri Mar 14, 2025 8:36 am def a good job if they all stay...... im hearing one very important one is as good as gone tho so we shall see

This will be a good job in 3 years. No coach in their right mind would touch this job now.
