I believe Unioto is down 2 players as of now as well. Gavin Ogan had his appendix out on Sunday, which thankfully is all that was wrong after he was out sick the entire week before. He's a backup big who hasn't gotten a ton of minutes, but has provided good depth.

Unioto's depth has been outstanding all year, with 7 different leading scorers and 9 different players who have scored in double figures, they can hurt you from a variety of different ways. They just need a couple of guys to tighten up defensively and that will give them even more depth for Coach Hoops to possibly use on Friday night.

Unioto has to be the favorite to win District. They have had a great year. Considering the fact that they lost a player the caliber of Cottrill and still made it through the season with only 1 blemish is truly an amazing feat. I feel it speaks volumes for their coaching staff and the character of the young men on that team. No other team in this area could have dealt with an injury of that magnitude and preformed the way the "U" has.
With that being said I feel VC has the best shot of beating Unioto in the District. It will be a uphill battle with the news that McIntire is out. Gives VC a short bench with bigs. Hopefully Woods can stay out of foul trouble and the 6'8 Sophomore Damrin(SP) can step up. Bartoe and the other guards will be the key in this one for the Vikes IMO. If Bartoe can keep out of foul trouble and can penetrate the way he has the entire season the Vikes will be in this one.
I look for this to be a tight one and the winner doing so by no more than 5-8 points. Good luck to both squads and hope for a great injury free ball game in Athens.

Unioto by double digits. With the bigs out for VC I don't see anyway they can beat them. Hosley will have no issues in the middle. Hope its a good one anyway but that's how I see it.

Unioto has sold out of their first 1000 tickets and will have another 500 available starting tomorrow morning at 9am in the Athletic office at the school. Try to get your tickets through the schools since the schools get a portion of the ticket sale back...and it's cheaper to buy through the school instead of at the gate.
