All-Time Champions in the TVC
Does anyone have a list of who has won the TVC every year in basketball since its founding?

Of the top NY teams, I am only familiar with the '96 - '97 team. I remember NY vs. Alex was a huge showdown in Albany (they only played the one game because Alex was in the Hocking back then). NY came out on top and the Buckeye fans exploded in cheers! That was the most emotional game I have ever seen for NY.
I have heard great things about that '81 - '82 NY team. Many of those players had just came back from winning the state championship in football and hit the courts immediately after that and just ran over everyone in basketball like they did football. So that year could have been the best NY team in basketball of all-time.

I would have to agree with NYBuckeye96. That game was awesome between Alex and NY. I believe they touted it as the "Game of the Decade". Both teams were ranked in the top 10 (3rd & 7th) which to my knowledge hasn't happened in a while for 2 TVC teams to be ranked in the top 10 in the state. I was a senior at Alex that year and I can tell you that we were heartbroken over the loss.
As for the best team at Alex. That's a toughy. Yes they were good in the 80's and early 90's but probably the Bill Whaley years' were the best. Of course this was before I was born and before I remember, but I have heard my dad (ran the scoreboard for 35 years for Alex) tell me stories about the "teams" they had back then.

If you are taking about who has the most....Federal has to be in the running. I think they won the first 6 and have won others since.

I know you are trying to stir the pot, but seeing as how you are such a Southern history buff, feel free to correct me if I am wrong, Southern was in the SVAC during the glory years of Southern Basketball.

The Skinner led dynasty tems of a few years ago. (Why hasn't some school not lured him out of retirement yet?????? It's a waste of a not to have him stomping on the sidelines anymore!!)

Maybe the answer lies with the question of-"Why did Athens let him go???"Sniper_Fan wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2017 4:24 pm The Skinner led dynasty tems of a few years ago.
