Saylor averages like 6 points a game. I don't think he is even in the top five in the hocking for POY.

While idk if Saylor is POY Caliber, he's a little bit closer to 12-14 ppg than 6. Also how many rebounds and blocks does he have? Take that into account. I think Saylor, Lang, or Roseberry will get the Hocking POY. Jones or Cox for Ohio POY.

Either Jake Ullman or Andrew Roseberry deserve to get the Hocking Division POY. Not sure what Roseberry's stats are, but I know Ullman has done one heck of a job on both offense (scoring, running the offense, assists) and defensively as well. I really don't think Saylor is in the running, just IMO.

I wouldn't call losing 8 games and 6 in conference "dominating everyone"I don't believe Saylor has had near the season as Roseberry,Carnahan or Ullman or even Issac Lee.I believe one of those players will get POY this year in the Hocking.Poncho and Lefty wrote:Obviously Chris Saylor for the Hocking. Tate Lang has had a fantastic season, he deserves, he showed how good he was tonight at Belpre.

Ullman's performance in a victory tonight will help his candidacy I'm sure.

Especially since he was double- and triple-teamed all night and still scored 20 with 6 threes. Great job tonight by Ullman.ohiobaseball25 wrote:Ullman's performance in a victory tonight will help his candidacy I'm sure.
Lang did have a great game too, scoring a game-high 28 points. With Leasure (being Belpre's big man underneath) on the bench the first half with three fouls, it was difficult to keep Lang from scoring lay-up after lay-up whenever he got the ball.
Re: TVC Hocking/Ohio POY Candidates?
I cast my vote for Roseberry. I've watched him all season and he is talented kid. Watch him get a rebound/steal and outrun everybody down the floor for a layup. Defends well. And I have to say he might very well be the most fun player I have ever warned in my years as a fan. He will certainly be missed next year. Hopefully this season will last a while longer.

It's going to really be dependent upon how many coaches put players up for it. If all the coaches put up the players we've mentioned (Belpre: Ullman, Southern: Roseberry, Eastern: Carnahan, Waterford: Lang, Wahama: Lee, Fed Hock: Saylor) then that means it will be decided based on whomever South Gallia, Trimble, and Miller votes for since all of the other coaches will vote for their own (although there are a few on that list I would eliminate from the runnings).

In my opinion, Drew Roseberry and Jake Ullman are the two best players in the Hocking Division. I would have to give Ullman the nod for POY due to his production in the fourth quarter against Southern. Roseberry had a nice game (20 some points) against Belpre in Racine but Ullman hit the big shots in the end. I could totally see a tie between Roseberry and Ullman though. Both players seem like good kids too (based on their demeanor on the court).

Who is to say Sg, Trimble and Miller coaches don't put up a player? Who is to say a coach puts up his best player or votes for his own player? I have seen coaches not even pick the best player off their own team before, so who knows what will happen. Players the fans think are the best may not even be nominated by their head coach, if they are not nominated they can't be voted for.

Coaches can't vote for their own player.
I see it playing out like this:
1. Roseberry ...
2. Ullman ... If here were a senior - or even a junior - it would be really too close to call between him and Roseberry.
3. Lee ...
4. Haner ...
5. Carnahan ...
( I would have had Nathan Roberts pretty high - but a team can only have 1 player nominated.)

I didn't realize coaches couldn't vote for their own. That screws up my earlier philosophy. Lol! It's all said and done now though... Congrats to the players/coaches of both divisions who won these awards! (although it won't be released to the public until after the last team is eliminated from the tourney)93Bulldog wrote:Coaches can't vote for their own player.

I thought Chesser during the first half of the season - but now - I think Nigel Courts is your TVC-Ohio P.O.Y ... He's really seperated himself from the rest of the pack. IMOHardwood wrote:How about the Ohio, what"s everyones pick? 93 who is your top picks out of the Ohio?
Not that Chesser has played any worse - its the fact Jordan Kidd & Bryce Owings have really come on the last 10 or 12 games ... The Vikings have 4 guys that are reaching double figures on a regular basis.
