Meigs @ Vinton County 2/5
V.C. should put the Marauders away by halftime. It will be interseting to see if V.C. will keep thier starters in, due to the last meeting between these two schools.

if i was the vc coach i would play my varsity alot just to get them in game shape. they are soon going to play teams who play back. i would also play kids who might have to play against belpre or beyond to gey a good look at them. i probably would not risk my stars on a meaningless game either. then again this is probably senior night so parents will want to see the kids play one last time. that is a lot to think about.

I hope you are right and the VC faithful will have something to talk about for the next month

I remember reading all of those posts about this when these two teams first played. And I remember thinking to myself, Oh, the arrogance of teams who feel everyone should just bend over and concede to their mightiness, just so they can show the world they won by 20+ points.
Why does it matter so much to some people what the other team's coach does during the game? Concentrate on your own side of the floor and stop being so pompous.

What is the Meigs faithful going to say when just maybe the Vikings leave their starters in, apply full court pressure and lay a hundred on you?
P.S. I am not being pompous, my remarks were tongue-in-cheek. I like to look at both sides of things. You must have me confused with Captain Jack, now he is pompous.

Can't speak for Meigs fans, but lets suppose they respond with: "Good game. Great hustle and competition all the way to the final buzzer. Good luck the rest of the way."
Now there's a refreshing, humble, classy and unfortunately rare response--win or lose.
Once again, just the very suggestion that Vinton County CAN do what you are saying is being pompous, tongue-in-cheek or not.

Well, Tyler. Aren't you just the articulate posters? Wow, now that it is refreshing! We don't get that kind of plain, simple and to the point speech around here to often. I must say a heartfelt welcome to SEOPS.
I do not disagree with what you are saying. Not one bit. Too many times, too many people missed the glory of the athletic competition for the insignificant nuances of the game itself. Moreover, what you will find it is fun to castigate them. Sometimes we take ourselves way to seriously and it is humorous.
Notwithstanding, I do believe that if they wanted too, the Vikings could put one hundred points on the board. I have seen the first meeting between these two fine schools and there is no doubt in my opinion who is clearly the better boys' basketball team. And the actions of Coach Ewing in the first contest was questionable, at best, to the guise of coaching ethics.

i just hope that the kids decide the game and there is sportsmanship on both sides. meigs will do and play a style that coach ewing thinks will work because he plays to win. i hope where ever he goes, if he leaves meigs, he never loses that. the boys will play for 32 minutes and leave it on the court. who would have guessed meigs would be playing to get to 500? tvc you are writing checks due next year.
