It is the difference between playing on Friday or Saturday, not about a chance for 3rd or 5th place. What matters more? A glorious 3rd place finish in the SEOAL or an extra day of preparation and rest for the OHSAA tournament? NO BRAINER!!!

Did anyone from Ironton contact Warren about playing Friday for the third place game??

If you didn't set in the crow's nest you wouldn't be so hot. :lol:

You could set down front with us,but then you have to be good.We don't allow a lot of noise or yelling at the officials. :lol:

That's what Lafon knew after the game but that's not what tigermom and I knew at the time of the post....the reference to lafon's radio comments came in response to the question as to.... "Friday ???" but its really not that big a deal...hope all the teams play well and are healthy for the tournament games. Good Luck to all the Southeastern Ohio teams!!!!!

I agree with gotigers 100% on this one. You have to do what is best for your team come tourney time. Whether you finish 3rd or 5th has zero outcome for the tourney.

I do not see how this is showing disrespect. I call this a coach thinking ahead and being smart.

Also what do you get for winning this game? If it was like last year, all you get is a pat on the back and a "that a boy" compliment.

Who cares if it was for 3rd or 5th place - this game was played like it was for the Championship by both teams!!!
I bet all players on both teams will be plenty sore tomorrow - an extra day for the Tigers to recuperate and get their minds re-focused before the Rock Hill Tournament game was certainly a wise decision.
