there is another thread on this with some argument on freshman playing in two tournament. According to someone in that thread Belpre played a dressed a freshman in the varsity's tournament and also let him play in the TVC tournament against Alexander on Saturday. Maybe Coach and Bulldog64 can clarify the ruling. I'm understanding that you only get one tournament no matter if it's sanctioned by OHSAA. Any help?

I did not stay for the Belpre-Alexander game, but I did not see Waddaker on the floor. He played in the tournament on Friday night and he probably is not playing with the freshmen team. He played two quarters when we played them earlier in the season. He is a very nice player for a freshman. Watkins did play on Saturday, but I have no idea if he played in the tournament game with the varsity. I also don't have any idea whether they can play in an unsanctioned tournament after the sectional, but knowing the ruling concerning baseball, I would say you can't. Athens will play whoever shows up. Belpre has a very nice team, but Athens has battled good teams all season. The kids love to play!!

Because of numbers OHSAA was contacted and as long as Belpre was out of the Varsity tourny it was OK. It's not like they are just now playing Freshman ball they played on and off all year so Belpre could have a 9th grade team for the first time in several years. Plus they never hit the 90 quarter limit.

I'll be suprised if Alexander doesn't check with the state to see if it was ok
