3/1 Fairland vs. Ironton
Re: 3/1 Fairland vs. Ironton
It was a great game by both teams. The kids played hard. And a great job by both Coaches. I gotta a chance to see them in Jackson and at the Convo and both did a real nice job with their teams.

Get a life. These are KIDS.
IHSTiger81 where are getting these quotes of Thunderbutt? I see where you quoted them but I can't find the original ones. It is a shame that they have that much hate for the boys of Ironton. Sad, sad, sad.

I can tell you one thing.........Dustin Bumgardner is a beast. He was the difference maker in the game.

Rhi, go up 9 posts. I guess the time is screwed up on here and it mixed it in with earlier posts.

As usual you blow everything out of proportion.

What can be blown out of proportion from "Finally!!!!". If your problem is with the coach, take it there. Otherwise, leave the kids out of it.

Congratulations to Fairland on the win and good luck to our outgoing seniors, you've been fun to watch the last few years!
Re: 3/1 Fairland vs. Ironton
Outstanding guard play. Hatfield, Bloomfield and other guards were impressive. Lamb was solid inside, and Bumgardner came up huge in scoring, passing and rebounding.
I also think Coach Belville deserves a lot of credit. His substitutions and timeouts were perfect. The team got off to a shaky start, but worked through the problems by the time the second quarter rolled around.
My only complaint was Fairland's fans. Decent turnout, but only about one-third was cheering. The rest just politely clapped - sporadically.
Ironton deserves credit, too. The team didn't quit when Fairland was up by 10, 11 points near the end. As Fairland kept missing free throws (was it 7 or 8 in a row?), I was worried that effort would pay off.

The coach didn't get the "T". Annoying? Nah. Besides, even if he were, you can't get a technical for that.
Marc Carter did.

Great game by the Dragons tonight. The Tigers never got in sync and the press really never bothered Fairland. Good luck to the Dragons the rest of the way, great job of the Tigers making a good run in the tourny. Thanks Seniors for your dedication and another good year of hoops.

You sure? If I'm wrong, my apologies for getting it wrong (although I stand by the annoying comment).

I'm positive. He (Carter) is at my house and I asked him. What about LaFon did you find annoying? Cause I just don't see it.

Congrats to Fairland!!!! They really deserved this win and goodluck against Garaway!
Apparently the OVC was NOT as weak as many people on here were saying...which will be an ongoing debate...but regardless the OVC team was victorious tonight
Congrats to Ironton on a good season...those boys give it their all.

The whole OVC debated started over someone from South Point saying Ironton would finish no better than 4th in the OVC which is laughable. That being said, Fairland was the better team tonight and is representing Lawrence County, so congrats and good luck! Congrats to the Tigers and the seniors on their overachieving season. Also, good luck to Marc Carter, what a pleasure it was watching you!
GO TIGERS!!!

Ok, I stand corrected, and I've edited my post to fix the mistake.

Well my opinion is.....BOTH conferences are very talented and this year has proven it. Both conferences had teams go very far in the tournament and do well. Sooo maybe everyone can agree that they both are very talented
As far as who would finish where in each conference...we will never know LOL ...but hey at least its exciting competition to watch each year!

Well Said!!
I think Lawrence County produces great basketball teams every year and yet always gets overlooked in the polls.
