Re: Ironton @ Fairland 2/17
P,
Neither played tonight that I am aware of. Listening when I could, it seemed that the Tigers maintained a 12-18 most of the second half and got sloppy towards the end. I believe Ironton ended up with about 18-20 turnovers. Fletcher has a high ankle sprain and Dion is the knee. Probably a good idea to keep them out until the tourney games start.

... thanks hammer - I figured that Coach LaFon would NOt play them tonight - with the post season starting next week those boys need all the rest they can get ... high ankle sprain for Fletcher does not sound good - hate to hear those kinds of injuries for ANY kids - they are not quick healing injuries ... how did Fairland look vs the Tiger D ? how did Campbell handle guarding Zac Carter ? will be curious to see the number of turnovers the Dragons had vs the IHS pressure ...

Carter had 36 points and White with his 1st start of the season had 19 points and 15 rebounds. Fairland only had around 10 Turn Overs and Ironton had around 20.
As soon as I get the official stats from the game I'll post them.

Tigers missing two starters and dominate the entire game. Very impressive. Hope to see Fletcher back by next Saturday vs Oak Hill.

Fairland looked decent on offense when ironton played man. When ironton went zone, Fairland offense fell apart. They have struggled vs zone all year; even peake played zone against them this year.

When I've seen Hillsboro this season, they've played 80% zone. Might want to work on that zone offense over the next week!OH IO 07 wrote:Fairland looked decent on offense when ironton played man. Great win for Ironton, down 2 starters and beating a very solid squad on the road.

Dani, I have seen hillsboro numerous times this year and they rarely ever play zone. They are a man to man defensive team. Some nights they play it well, others they don't. I've NEVER seen them play 2-3. Who did you see them play?

May have stretched it out, LOL, but against WCH they played a good bit of 1-3-1, same against LE. But, you're right, way more man D than anything else.
