I think after looking at the 3 seed you should be happy you didnt get it, Circleville has been playing wayyyyyy better basketball than Hillsboro and i believe Unioto would trade you right about now. Not a huge surprise jackson beating Unioto last night actually, with unioto playing a very meaningfull and emotional game the night before, hard to get that energy back on a game that really means nothing. Jackson is a solid team and even Chillicothe saw the first time they met you better bring your A game. Unioto is a very good club with good size and some athletes and are a tough matchup with a couple of 6'5" boys inside.

Kind of shocked to see Fairland at a 4 seed. Being a completely neutral participant, I have seen Fairland, Waverly and Unioto play this season. Fairland seems to be the better all around team IMO. We will see, come tourney time.

Wow, Waverly a D2, #2 seed get's upended by a D3 #10 seed and Unioto a D2, #3 seed goes down to a D2 #9 seed in the Southeastern HS sectional. If those happen in the tournament, they would be considered huge upsets!!

Unioto is just not that good IMO. Being DII in the SVC is a huge disadvantage. They play against smaller schools every night in the SVC, which not a powerhouse anymore anyway. Very surprised they got the 3. and I think last night proved it.

I find it interesting that Circleville is playing wayyyyyy better basketball than Hillsboro is right now. Hasn't Circleville lost 4 of 5 (including losses to average FU and Canal teams)? I'm not sure that's considered wayyyyyy better than a team who has won 14 out of 17.

If that "average" Canal team played in the SCOL, they probably win the league. Put Hillsboro in the MSL and they are probably a .500 club. Same or worse with the SEOAL.

Hillsboro was beating Logan elm in the 4th and lost by 7 without one of their best players. don't tell me that fu is really good too. canal is way down compared to usual.

The SCOL is down right now in boys basketball, and it really doesn't help they don't challenge themselves too much in the non-league for the most part. It doesn't stack up with the SEOAL and the MSL that well. Now back when WCH was real good and Gfield had Dante, you could make an argument they stacked up better. As for the Hillsboro-LE game, LE won that one by 10 (the game was closer than that), breaking in basically four new starters and coming off a playoff appearance in football. They didn't play very well at all.

i think fairland deserves to be a #2 seed. i knew they wouldn't be because they woudlnt get any love being a new D2 member. it's going to be hard road for the dragons but if they get past first round of convo i think it can be a pretty easy road to the final four

dragon pride.

It typically gets harder the farther you go in the tournament.

Need I say more?

d2dragon wrote:I took a closer look at Chili and Waverly schedule I do think chili had a tougher schedule than Fairland but I don't buy the idea that Waverly did. Waverly's 3 losses to Ironton, Warren and Valley are all good teams but they are still losses and no more if not less than impressive than three to Chesapeake which is argueably the best team in Southeastern Ohio. We both loss to Oak Hill and both beat South Webster it is similar enough to not be able to argue Fairland is better than Waverly as well as to say Waverly is not better than Fairland. So where I will agree is Fairland will get no love because most or all the schools or coaches have not seen us play. Pfloyd has three times and ranks us above Chili and Waverly. Thanks Pfloyd!!!!!!!!!!!
This debate gets to be decided where it should.... ON the court! Go DRagons!!!
