Tier 1 is pretty much in order. The rest of the Tiers are not necessarily in order. The top and bottom of each tier is pretty much in order. Jackson is better than Logan....yes, Jackson has been up and down....played poorly at Greenfield, Wellston and versus Athens....but beat Minford, destroyed Gallia Academy, Logan, Wheelersburg and River Valley....we have played at Warren and kept it tight....Chillicothe took a 28 footer at the buzzer to beat us and Portsmouth left Jackson with a tightly fought win.
I agree Jackson is tier 3.....but we have proven better than Logan by beating them handily and playing the best teams around close. I know your tiers aren't completely ranked but the tops are....Logan is not top.

Re: Southeast District Tier Rankings 1-22-12
Jackson is possibly the team with the biggest fluctuation of playing level. They lost to 5-8 Greenfield by 19 and Greenfield hasn't beaten anyone....yet, they've proven they can play right with the powerhouses. They deserve to be where they are, but if your a fan of one of the tier 1 teams and you could choose one tier 3 team to avoid....Jackson may be the top choice.

Re: Southeast District Tier Rankings 1-22-12
Ironman, I wasnt aware of Jackson's two wins over Logan and River Valley. Maxpreps has them at 4-7. Jottings has them at 5-6. If you dont mind please post their schedule so this can be cleared up. With those two wins Logan would slip down from the top and Jackson would climb a little closer to the top of Tier 3. The Logan/Jackson rematch will be very interesting. Was the first game played at jackson?
I caught a mistake in the maxprep schedule. It has them beating a Northwest team outside the Southeast District. So I guess there real record is 5-7?

The McClain loss is bad but so is the loss to a struggling Athens team. Take away the Minford and Logan wins and they have not beaten anybody. But, you are right they have played very tough schedule as anyone in that league does. Still, there schedule is not the caliber of Logan's but not that far off.Ironman92 wrote:Jackson is possibly the team with the biggest fluctuation of playing level. Wins:
At Gallipolis (dominated), at Wheelersburg (beat soundly), home (destroyed River Valley), beat Minford, beat Logan (soundly)
Losses:
At Warren (close game throughout), at Portsmouth, home versus Portsmouth ( lost by 8, had lead with 9 minutes left), versus Chillicothe (lost on a 28 foot buzzer-beater), home versus Athens (led by 7 near end of 3rd quarter but were brutal versus 2/3 zone), at Rio against Wellston, at Greenfield (worst loss and largest margin)
Jackson played the first 10 games without 6'6 center Ethan Quinn....he's getting his legs back and should be starting again pretty soon.

Re: Southeast District Tier Rankings 1-22-12
Anybody have an opinion about Sheridan? I believe they are 7-4 and on a 5 game winning streak. Their schedule has them playing two more games this week that they should be favored to win against Philo tonight and New Lexington on Friday. There is also a December 30th holiday tournament game that is missing from their results? If anybody knows who that game was against and the score/result I would greatly appreciate it. Any other information on Sheridan would be helpful.

Re: Southeast District Tier Rankings 1-22-12
I do agree that Jackson is a team that may not get a great tournament seed, but could definitely pull off an upset of a higher ranked team. Colt Chapman is a nice ball player and can take over a game. To say they beat Wheelersburg soundly is quite an stretch unless you consider a 5 point win a strong victory. An early season win on the road is always a good win though.Ironman92 wrote:Wins:

You are correct....I misremembered! Lol
How about Jackson had their most dominating win at Wheelersburg in decades.

Re: Southeast District Tier Rankings 1-22-12
Having thoughts of scrapping the Tiers and doing a SED Top 20 post. Nice thing about the Tiers is it inlcudes all 71 sed teams. Anybody have an opinion? Top 20 or SED Tiers?
Also, was thinking of expanding the Tiers to 6 If I go that route.

Come on Swanker! Stop being lazy and read all the post in the thread! About 7 post up from the bottom. Also, this is the reason I put the date on the Tier Rankings - you notice the 1-22-2012?
