Caldwell/Newcomerstown was a great game. Caldwell threw the inbound away underneath Newcomerstown bucket with 2.5 seconds to go in a tie game. Caldwell lost a kid on inbound play and gave up a bucket at the horn, final was 45-43. Caldwell played very well but the Sawyer and Abrams kids combined to miss a dozen layups tonight. They still shot around 50% according to the radio guys. Ironic thing is the JV game ended on a Ntown buzzer beater as well. Caldwell is playing well again, finally but they have to finish things out. They have probably missed 30 layups the past two games.

U have to be joking I hope. A great game? Maybe if you like turnovers and a very down team winning the game due to the same mistakes. Caldwell is way better than that. But Bill Parcels always said you are what your record says you are. Hopefully we can get some wins the 2nd half of the season.

Both teams are not playing well right now with Fort Frye losing to Waterford and then beating Frontier by 6 with the score tied with a minute and a half left. Caldwell has not played very well all year. One thing is certain. It won't be as lopsided as it was the first time these 2 teams met.

If that is considered "playing well", then I wouldn't expect many more wins. Lazy defense, bad defensive positions, being out hustled, unforced turnovers, and missing easy layups are not things teams that are "playing well" do. Newcomerstown isn't that good. This team hasn't played well for a long time. If you can play with the likes of Trail, Barnesville, and Beallsville, all games which they had a chance to win in the 4th, then you shouldn't have any problems with Newcomerstown. Seems as though they might play to the level of their competition a bit. These mistakes need to be fixed, and fixed now. Coaching can only do so much, it's time for the players to step up and leave everything out on the floor.redskinwitness wrote:Caldwell/Newcomerstown was a great game. Relax on FF yea they lost to Waterford and Frontier played them tough but both those games were on the road.FF actually shot great vs Trail. They will get back to Beverly and will make more shots. What Waterford and Frontier did was locked down Shon Smith.I just don't think Caldwell can shut him down.

Fort frye would be lucky to win another game this year watched them last week and was pretty sure a 7th grade girls team could beat them

I would like nothing more than to watch Caldwell come to Beverly and take down the cadets, as I don't think it's been done in years. However, that will be a very tall task. Good luck to the skins tomorrow.

Frontier showed how to keep it close vs FF.Slow it down run some stall. This makes the Cadets impatient and they take bad shots when they do get the ball.
Re: Caldwell @ Fort Frye 8-3 (6-1) Jan13
History lesson:
Caldwell played stall ball back in 1962 and Fort Frye won the game 14-1.

You also was not there.Waterford brought it that day and has won 3 in a row.Waterford always gets calls at home.I'm sure FF will come out at home and do work.
Re: Caldwell @ Fort Frye 8-3 (6-1) Jan13
True. It just worries me about other teams stalling. Bit it seems like nowadays every team is up tempo and likes to run with it unless they have big men, which very few teams have
