How long is Frontier going to have Kirkpatrick in the coach's seat? He obviously doesn't have the horses this year, but it makes an ol' Cougars fan remember the days of Hank Morus, and then son Greg, consistently putting up 17-18 win seasons. From what i've seen so far this year it's a 4-16 season at best.

Gonna be a rough year for Frontier. They lost their OVERALL leader from the last few years in the Fickiesen boy. Great athlete. Where is he now? Anyone? Keep your heads up.

Not sure if I remember this correctly, as its been a year since I've been in their gym, but have they ever won the pvc? I didn't think they have

Gotta take Caldwell in this one. They need to get back on track.

I think they won their last one a couple of years ago when Fort Frye was down, them and Shenandoah shared the title 2 year ago I think. That year they lost in the Sectional Finals to Bridgeport. They've won a few over the years also if I'm not mistaken.vigril wrote:Not sure if I remember this correctly, as its been a year since I've been in their gym, but have they ever won the pvc? Yea, seen the banner tonight, they had a lot of PVC titles back in the 70's-late 80's and also a couple from the 90's untill 2009-2010 season. Nice to see Caldwell pick up the win tonight, they needed it and they got it. Should have a nice stretch of games coming up that are winnable, but they won't be handed to them.
Also to one of the posters who said something about Roger not being in the coaches seat much longer, Why wouldn't you want him to be there? The guy has put his soul into Frontier basketball his entire life. From playing there (or newport) to assistant coaching and now head coaching. He has had some pretty decent teams who haven't achieved what they should have but he still guided them. It might be a bad situation for him now but he is getting everything out of each and every player. The guy demands respect and his plays show it night in and night out. They play hard and that all you can ask of them. I think they should keep him there as long as he wants to be there.

I agree with keeping Roger. Funny that in the same post it is mentioned in some form or another that the cupboards are bare. Last time I checked it isn't a coaches fault if a team has little to no talent. You have to coach the players you have. Some years you will be super talented, other years just competitive, and other years flat terrible. It's time that those of us in the stands get off the coaches backs & let them do their jobs. If they improve over the course of the year that is all we should be asking for, especially if there are no discipline problems.
