... I'm thinking that the Purple are the underdogs in this one LOL ... seriously though I am curious about the Warren ability to handle pressure - noticed the "issues" that the Waverly pressure presented for the Warriors at the Convo Saturday<= surprised me a little bit ... will be good to see all of the Warrior fans at Jim's Gym - have a safe trip! ...

Re: Warren Local @ Logan 12/20
Waverly may have caught Warren off guard a bit with their ability to pressure the ball handler....the Warriors subbed a lot more in this one than they did against Portsmouth and overall handled the Trojan pressure pretty well....Maddox was saving legs for the second half and wanted to get his younger pups on the big floor for the first time to prep them for the post season....Warren appeared a bit out of cync during the first half after a big emotional win against a very physical Trojan team but played much better in the second half, then closed it out in the 4th quarter....I was impressed with Waverly as a team they are very good even after losing their big time center Martin? from last year....
Re: Warren Local @ Logan 12/20
Back at you Pfloyd! Will Logan be able to handle the pressure the Warriors will bring. I agree and we talked about it after the game Sat., that Waverly did pressure them into some turnovers. I am sure that will be adressed today and will get fixed. Warren has always handled pressure better than they did Sat, I am concerned but not worried yet. As always I like our BENCH and that will be Warrens ACE in the hole! See you TUE. night, should be a good game as always at Logan.
Together the Warriors Win!!!!!!!

I am sure Maddox and his coaches are game planning for this game like all the rest....Logan has some talented kids and we know all about Luke....he can keep the Chieftains in a game all by himself...pretty sure Logan's JV game last year was one of only 2 losses Warren's JV had all of last year....Do not overlook anyone! GO BLUE!

I'm still waiting on Austin Henthorn to have that breakout offensive performance. I think it comes right here against Logan. He will lead the way with 25+ as the Warriors take this one in a landslide victory.

79_whs yes I look forward to a break out performance offensively by Henthorn as well...a solid defensive performer and one of our leaders when he on the floor or on the bench....also looking for TWard to light up the scoreboard soon....is not if but when for Tyler.....his bum shoulder is getting better.....both of these great kids are very capable of this....fact is this TEAM has so many who can contribute signficantly, it has been fun to watch so far that each game different ones are stepping up and making important things happen....people outside of Washington County are beginning to take note, Maddox and his coaches will be working to keep these Warriors focused only on the next game....let's hope for a win tonight against Logan and a relaxing Christmas, then back to work....GO BLUE!

5-0 at the break would make for a relaxing break. 0-6 at the break not so much. Helber and his staff are in for a long, long break.
Re: Warren Local @ Logan 12/20
Just got back from this fiasco. OMG thats the ugliest logan team effort I have seen in years. No dicipline on or off court. its all about me on the floor. 1 pass and shot from the guards. One post player looks like a bottom less pit when he gets it, throw it in it dont come back out. No help def. what so ever. The coaches spend more time riding the officials than coaching. This squad was 15-5 last yr what has happened. I'm not bashing but give me a break this isn't the direction this program was suppose to be lead in after coaching changes. Moonshine you might want to get your comm. together you got the last changes made.

And what a great change that was...
Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.

Jottings, Just got home the Warren varsity won 70 to 47. The Warren JVS also won 52 to 32. Two good wins for the Warriors. The Warren 9th grade team won but I forgot the score. That means three good wins for the Warriors. Good night its late!!!!!!!!!
Re: Warren Local @ Logan 12/20
It would have been just as bad with the former coach. If this team continues to fail the rest of the season a complete review of the program will be required. Again this team should win 6-9 games anything less is unacceptable! The Jackal wrote:And what a great change that was...

Moonshine,
You may be right about that, but Keith had been gone for two years now. His coaching ability has nothing to do with the problems at hand. In fact this is a program problem from top to bottom, from coaches to players, from parents to the administration. Its going to take one strong coach to turn this program around. The lack of discipline is crazy. The loss of coach Rutter hurts more than people know. He was the only coach from last years staff that was not afraid to instill some discipline in the kids, and he sure as heck was not scared of the parents.

I would argue and so would many other parents that Coach Dunigan was on the same page as Rutter. Not as long in the ranks but well respected, because he held kids accountable even at the frosh and jv levels. The kids liked that aspect. They both demanded accountability and tried to get the best out of their kids. The younger coach once told me he respected the older alot and would seek out advice every now and then. But it is what it is now and I hope the Chiefs can turn it around.eaglesrock wrote:Moonshine,
