NA by 15 unless Manchester finds a way to get Combs the ball and if they do and he scores 30 Manchester will win. Thats the only way there winning this game.

They can win without Combs scoring 30 but they have to limit the turnovers. That pretty much did them in last night when they were trying to come back against Ripley.

I'm guessing the OP meant " box and one"?? That may have been working so far for north Adams, but if combs and west can make a couple 3's early, you'll have to abandon that defense quick.....not saying that'll happen , the way we've been shooting this year....

If comes can play up to his standards... 18-22 pts 5-7 reb 2-3 stl 3-4 ast's , Manchester by 9.... Right around his last yr avgs/... Otherwise we're looking at 3 straight league losses for a team many thought would win the shl

I wouldn't look too much into the losses. Last years team lost against Peebles and Ripley also but they didn't have to play them back to back, this early in the season. With those tough games being behind them, I think they turn it around against North Adams and start playing to their potential.

Our 1st gm against a cne team that we should of beat easily wasn't so pretty either....said it last yr, Manchester will be as good as combs can make them, having a slow start being the lone "star" on the team, they'll get it together sooner or later... I have 100% faith this team can and will win gms....even though they are seniors this is the first yr west and ricketts are expected/needed to score... Heck last yr ricketts wasn't even ALLOWED to shoot ( true story ) their adjusting......we'll be fine :)

Manchester will win this one...how many points they win by will be decided on how much combs gets the ball...andif gaffin can stay out of foul trouble and contribute pts

We will win games as soon as the coach learns to change his strategy. He is getting out coached every game cuz he dont know how to make changes. If teams continue to play box and 1 on us, (and I am sure they will cuz it is working so far) the coach needs to learn to change what he is doing. Coaching is like a chess game, u have to adjust ur moves to whatever the other coach is doing. He makes no adjustments. To get them out of the box and one all he has to do is move Combs to point guard, he can play that position, and have ricketts and west slash and look to score. Takes pressure off of Combs and he can get his points alot easier. The boys dont play with any confidence and that is the coaches fault. There are other kids very capable of scoring the ball but no one sees it because of the sucky offense they run that anyone can stop and they are afraid if they miss shots that they are going to be benched. You have to encourage ur kids to shoot the ball make or miss, the more confidence you have the more shots ur going to make cuz u dont think about it or hesitate anymore. Good luck hounds, keep ur heads up and keep playing hard to the end. Play with confidence and have fun. You are better than this and I am sure ur about to prove it.

One option to beating the box and one (if other players can shoot/score) is to have your boxed player be pretty much a designated screener. He can set screens on the top of the box and than pop out to the top of the key or set screens on the bottom to free up the post players.

make shots........plain and simple.....sounds easy i know....but the most effective way to crush a box and 1 , is to just make shots.....unless north adams simply runs the greatest box and 1 ever in history, manchester will get plenty of open looks from outside, make a few early on-will change the way NA plays defense the rest of the game

If it is a true box you can just overload one side of the court just like you would against a regular zone defense.

That could/would work, but depending on who Manchester would leave on the weak side, NA could adjust accordingly .... If we overload the right side and leave 1 or 2 non- scoring threats on the left side... I can see NA leaving a "rover" to cover those 2, and would then have 4 on 3 on the other side with no real concerns of giving up an open 3 on the weak side...... We are all "side-coaches" ( with the exception of streetballs ) and I'm sure we could come up with 1,000 scenarios ...... I just hope Manchester comes to play, and with all due respect to north adams, if the hounds "show up" I don't think na's defensive scheme will even matter
