You must be smoking something. South Gallia got pounded by East by 20+ and Eastern Pike beat East by 20 points?

The SOC is not that weak...In fact, SOC I schools have wins over OVC and SVC schools this season. Eastern Pike (if they keep winning) should get the 3 seed.

Jottings.....Yep. The D-2 sectional is back at Logan and D-4 back at Wellston this season.

Also, I know Gallia Academy could make three trips to Logan this season, but would you rather be traveling up there and back at $4 a gallon like it was last summer or $2?

Personally, I feel better putting $20 in to fill up a tank of gas as opposed to $40.

Oak Hill pounded Waverly at Waverly. Oak Hill has lost to only Valley & Minford.
OakHill has beaten Symmes Valley, South Webster, River Valley, Northwest, Waverly, Wellston, South Gallia, Wheelersburg, West, and Alliance Marlington.

No one else has played this kind of schedule. There is NO way Oak Hill is a #2 seed.

THE RECORDS ARE UPDATED AFTER TONIGHTS GAMES (TUESDAY)

I might have missed a few games, but for the most part its correct - some scores have yet to come in, but I did get most of them.

Oak Hill IS (11-2) and Southern improved to (10-2) - which is probably the best race going amongst the 3 sectionals ... Waterford is right behind those two teams with an (8-4) mark.

Watch out for MARIETTA in the D-2 sectional ... They improved to (8-3) and all the teams below them and Vinton County have 5 or more losses.

The D-3 sectional is still to crazy to call ... THE BURG is the first to 10 WINS - Ironton plays a brutal schedule but still has a lot of wins - and the Spartans have only lost once this year .... The only 1-loss team in SOUTHEASTERN OHIO.

Sleepers ... Wow, not sure if their are any - but teams are slowly creeping back into the discussion ... teams like BEAVER EASTERN (7-4); REEDSVILLE EASTERN has won 2 games in a row; BELPRE has won 4 out of the last 5 games; FAIRLAND has 7 wins as does SOUTH POINT (7-3)

Belpre improved to 6-6 with their 3rd straight win. The next 4 games should tell us where they stand. This weekend they travel to undefeated Fort Frye then at Vinton Co and at Alexander.

South Gallia is a completely different team now. South Gallia has kids back off suspension and are playing good ball. South Gallia beats East now i think. South Gallia is now 6-8. They took Southern to the wire after losing by 30 points without those players. They never had them when they played Symmes Valley, Southern 1st time, Rock Hill 1st time, East, and ect. South Gallia is a scary team right now with everyone back. They are young but will be fine. Oak Hill gets #1 seed and Southern #2. Reedsville has been winning and they could get 3rd seed or Waterford. Beaver gets #5 seed with only one SOC school in the drawing. South Gallia and Trimble gets #6 and #7. I know you are a coach there,which is funny to me that a coach would even be on this site lobbying for a higher seed. South Gallia was only down a couple before having to foul and force up shots. Southern had no starters foul out and South Gallia had two. South Gallia had twice as many team fouls the second half. South Gallia ended up with more team fouls and Southern shot 10 more free throws......I am not lobbying, I was explaining that reedsville eastern is playing great ball right now and will move up, Oak Hill and Southern will get numbers 1 and 2. I think my predictions are legit and could land that way....No where did I state that South Gallia will get #1-5 seed.....How is that lobbying?

A couple of things to consider in seeding meetings:

1) It is not just how many games you win. You list your record against DI, II, III, and IV teams you have played. Obviously a DIV beating a DII MIGHT carry more weight if the school they beat playing up had a decent record as well.

2) If you believe politics play at least a part in seeding (I will use the DII sectional at Logan as an example), of the ten teams there, 4 are SEOAL, 3 TVC, 2 MVL, and 1 MSL. Thus Athens, in a sense, becomes a potential swing vote if leagues support each other as a block. Not saying that happens; just speculating. Were Athens still in the SEOAL, that league would have half of the teams in the Logan sectional, and no other league more than 2 teams.

Your quote above "Not saying that happens". You are a very wise man and you and I both know it happens. Happens every year. This teams, leagues and coaching brethren vote in blocks. Your right, Athens does become a swing vote.

Gahs4ever: You're right.......each team lists what Division each of their opponents is........but I really don't think that is taken into serious consideration when the votes are cast.......I think the bottom line is record, and conference affiliation......conference voting leverage has a lot to do with the final seeding outcome.

Portsmouth is all by itself in the D3 Waverly sectional..........and because of that it will be difficult for the Trojans to get a fair shake on the seeding........we're 5-0 outside the SEOAL, and 2-5 in league play........but I really don't think our perfect NC record will make any kind of a splash with the voters.

I can't imagine having to play a team like Belpre or nelsonville-York or South Point in an opening round game! That is Crazy ....

The top 4 teams (Alex, Peake, Burg, Ironton) will undoubtably be challenged in that sectional ... those 4 will have to play and beat that group of teams that are sitting above .500 and will probably end the season with around 12-14 wins possibly ... Having to beat a 14-6 team just to get out of your sectional is brutal ... compared to the other two sectionals at least ... Oak Hill, Vinton County ... and a couple of others ... could probably rest a few of their stars during their sectionals and still make it to the convo ...
