Tibbs is not the problem here. He probably also leads the team in rebounds and blocked shots. Johnson also plays very good ball but for some reason is not starting. I do not know how Tibbs acts or what he says off the court about anything but I do see that when he is on the court he just plays ball, no displays when he hits a shot or gets a rebound or blocks one. I dont see him throw his hand in the air and look into the stands when he hits one. Granted he doesn't follow his shots either the way Taylor or Payne does. Greybill is also stepping up his play as is Stanley, both have really improved alot.
We appreciate all of your boys talents but you don't need to make public displays when you do good. It is really tacky. You are playing high school, not college or pro! Enjoy yourselves but dont make a show. When you win it is as a team, when you lose it is as a team. No one person won or lost any game for you. It is all a team effort.

seems to me like there is too much controversy going on off the court with the sv bunch. Focusing on the game, rather than the time each player plays, the points, or any other figures will probably help this crew out the best right now. But, as Viking Grad said "It's a team effort.." That's win or lose. Some parents like to dispute on here, knowing other players and maybe coaches jump on here, they like to get their thoughts out. Which, I presume is the point, but, to place blame on players is a little too far.

Way to go redickjj4...sad...sad...sad... and they call themselves viking fans or maybe one player fans!!!!! You're right, there is a lot of talent on the viking team--on and off the bench, but they will never go anywhere with the type of support that they are receiving from their fans. For Instance, Do you recall any of the other teams fans yelling to their players to pass the ball to a certain #? Do you see their fans shaking their heads when other players shoot the ball and miss? Quit coaching from the stands-----if you want to coach apply for the job. Quit critizing the efforts made by all kids and support them as a team. They are a young team, and are going to make young individual mistakes--support them, so they can grow as a team. They are all great kids---treat them as so and let's hope they do not get on this website seeing how they are being talked about. As adults, lets try to hold a high standard in our everyday lives, since we expect the kids on the basketball court to do so---after all they are just growing kids.

I would also like to add---fans take note of the support that the players give eachother on the court---giving fives, patting eachother on the back when they do something good, lifting eachother up when they make a mistake....maybe the fans need to take a lesson from the players.

I never get on this silly site, but there was some talk letting me as a parent know what is being said. This is in response to the "Viking Graduate".
The person that throws his hand in the air when he does something good is not doing it for a public display. He had a deceased grandparent that use to support him at every basketball game and when he shakes his fist, usually after he does something good, it is in memory of his deceased grandpa. He has done this for so long that I am not even aware that he realizes he is doing this. I as a parent, doesn't feel like he needs to answer to anyone in the stands, because he is playing with heart and emotion, but I felt the need to say my response. I hope you continue to support the Viking team.....and to Kris Tibbs and all the Viking team, keep playing your game with emotion. We support you through wins and losses.
