John Glenn is very very very good. That press is killing us. I'm very impressed.

Anyone know who won the first game of the evening?
And yes, John Glenn is very, very, VERY good! They have all the makings of a state championship team.

Vinton looks like a deer in headlight against the press. Idk if I've seen a team be able to press after a missed basket like JG is doing to Vinton. Vinton has thrown away so many passes I'd hate to see the turnover count at this point.

Desales looked impressive. Typical catholic state team. Quick guards with big forwards
Re: John Glenn vs Vinton County (Sweet 16)
A Desales vs JG should be a good one. Desales has the gaurd play to beat the press if that is somthing JG does on a regular basis IMO.
Re: John Glenn vs Vinton County (Sweet 16)
Pretty unclassy booing like that.
VC playing hard. JG is tough and teetering on a blowout but VC won't stop playing hard. Hope they can play them tight this 3rd quarter.

He has as many points as Vinton County does at the halfPoo Bear wrote:Welcome to "Viking basketball" Drew RackleyJ_Manziel2 wrote:Welcome to the Drew Rackley show Vikings.
VC hung in there pretty good I thought. This easily could have been a 30 point game at the half.
Re: John Glenn vs Vinton County (Sweet 16)
VC fans were just booing the officials. Which aren't why they're down 41-18...
Re: John Glenn vs Vinton County (Sweet 16)
Anyone have a clue on how many turnover VC has?
Won't disagree that VC is playing tough but unless they limit the turnover, Make some big shots and play better defense that won't matter. Need a huge 3rd to make it a game. Conditioning will be tested.

The convo around 70% filled IMO.
VC has played a lot better vs the press here in the 3rd but haven't been able to get buckets missed a couple easy buckets but that first half was just to much.
52-29 JG 1:30 left.

Re: John Glenn vs Vinton County (Sweet 16)
I saw a post earlier in the week in this thread - it must have been deleted (believe it was from an Athens poster) that was very critical of a poster stating that VC hadn't played anyone outside of the SE district. And he said something like "so if VC had played Pickerington North and xxxxxxx - they would have a chance to beat John Glenn then?? SMH "
the answer to that question is: YES.... playing teams with different styles, physicality, Pressing teams, etc... prepares your team for what they will see; especially once you advance to the regional. Things are much different once you get outside of the SE district. This is one of VC's best teams in the last 20-30 years - you knew this for a while, so scheduling teams like Bloom Carroll, Columbus Hartley, Stuebenville, etc. would expose your team to different competition outside of the district and be better prepared for the regional tournament. **** the downside to this is you probably have a couple fewer regular season wins *******
