Congrats on District Title #35, Portsmouth!

Who cares who the favorite was? The facts are this: Fairland was the #1 seed and Portsmouth was the #2 seed. Where are your facts to say any different? You saying Fairland would have been a 5th or 6th seed in Jackson is your opinion...and you know what they say about opinions.

Just worry about the facts 77...Portsmouth is a #2 seed and Fairland was a #1 seed. No if's, and's, or but's about it.

Okay, lets take a look at the facts.

Here's the Athens Sectional.

Wellston #4 (10-8)
River Valley #5 (8-10)
Albany Alexander #6 (7-10)
Nelsonville York #7 (5_13)
Belpre #8 (6-12)
Zane Trace #9 (4-15)

Here's the Jackson sectional.

Chesapeake #1 (16-1)
Portsmouth #2 (14-4)
Ironton #3 (12-6)
Wheelersburg #4 (14-5)

Oak Hill #6 (13-5)
South Point #7 (10-9)
Minford #8 (7-12)

Fact is, Fairland was the #1 seed in the Athens sectional solely because other than Wellston at 10-8 they were the only team with a winning record. And I really can't believe that Wellston was given the #4 under two teams with losing records.

Now let's look at the Jackson sectional. No way Fairland gets a top 4 seed over the ones listed above so that puts them no better that a #5 and even though Fairland beat Oak Hill I would have to put the Oaks above them in the seeding so that moves them to #6.

So there are the FACTS and I stand behind my statement of Fairland being no better than a #5 or #6 seed at the Jackson sectional and maybe even a #7 since you have to factor Valley in there somehwere because they did beat Oak Hill rather handily both times they played.

No, Fairland was A #1 seed in their sectional at Athens and the Trojans were A #2 seed in theirs at Jackson, but the level of compettion at Jackson was far superior than that at Athens, hence the reason why 3 of the top 4 seeds from the Jackson sectional, Portsmouth, Wheelersburg, and Chesapeake are in the regionals.
